I've spotted this Mercedes about a month ago but haven't had time to stop to see exactly what it is.

I bet when I go to the Lincoln-Mercury dealers website, it will be most expensive car when I do a search, high to low.

That or the #23 911. I stopped to look at that, probably on the 4th of July while passing by with my wife and having time, but during the day, it took a lousy picture.

I dunno, I see something with an air scoop and rear wing hiding behind the Porsche.

You still have Mercury dealers in Illinois?

I must say Lincoln-Mercury out of habit or I may have come across an old sign. Both of their buildings are real old. They are finally remodeling their new car showroom. It was easily the smallest, most out of date one in the area. They possibly had another one that got leveled or extensively modified and became the Tesla dealership.

I was off by a bunch. I thought these were way more valuable.

I've seen this car before but didn't spot it last night

This isn't the correct car and I didn't spot it but if they do indeed have it, I'm guessing it's worth north of $500K

being a limited production car.

Back in the late 1970's I repainted a 300 SL. Someone had painted it with Imron, in metallic, and did a terrible job. Probably a collision shop. Those bodies are heavy gage steel, I have some difficulty accepting they are lightweights. I did it with lacquer, hand rubbed and overcoated with RM clear lacquer. Turned out pretty good, probably one of my best jobs.
Incedently, both the 190 and 300 have swing axle rear suspension. A real handful in wet weather.
