Great video of a classic warbird. My first wire/hand controlled .049 airplane was a P40 my dad and i assembled and flew.
I wonder how many slot racers also flew airplanes as well?

Good video. The first airplane model I did while I have been in the old folks home was a P40. A freind collects warbirds, and has a real one. Although never in the "Flying Tigers," and never saw combat, his plane is very original, other than having been restored. I helped a little on that restoration, and was able to work with some very knowledgeable restorers. I helped with the re-skinning of the fuselage. I think I previously posted some photos of his plane here. But just in case, I have shown them again.

His F4F3 Wildcat. This is the one he fished out of Lake Michigan;
The one in the main concourse of O'Hare airport was fished out at the same time. Dick's guys restored that one to display only, so it is not flyable. It was done up as Butch O'Hare's plane, the namesake of the airport.
