Today would have been my brother from another mother's birthday.

 

I don't know a man with a bigger heart, more friends, or a better attitude.

 

Cancer took him from us far too young. Thank you to the doctors who helped him have a few more good years after he was diagnosed

RIP, Dave "Sano' Fiedler and Godspeed.

Sano Dave was the friendliest guy ever and an absolute treasure of a slot car racer.

 

Seeing his smiling face at Chicagoland made the long trips all worthwhile.

I never met Dave in person, but I used to get some great posts from him on here. He was very knowledgeable and friendly.

I used to meet up with Dave at all the vintage races at Road America. He always bought the season ticket, and would drive up for vintage, SCCA events, Indycars, and virtually all racing events. I took him for some hot laps, in my Mustang since my race car was a single seater, which he videoed. He would watch that video when he was at home working on slotcars.

He was the heart of Retro, hardbody, and vintage slot cars in Chicago racing. RIP.
