I organized the 24 hour race held at Chicagoland a few years back. I'm more than happy to email you copies of the rules and press releases I wrote up for the event.
A new world record for distance covered in a 24 hour race was set at the race:
World Records On BSCRA Website
I'd love to see if someone can break the 500 mile mark at your race.

Mark, I would probably go the Deathstar motor route instead of the Falcon. I think you would have less motor failures.
I agree. At the 24 Hours of Chicagoland, the winning team ran their 2nd motor the last 22 hrs.
It looked like it used about 55-65% of it's brushes.
Guys were allowed to install Gold Dust or SBFII brushes which I'm pretty sure they did.
They had changed "on the green" at the end of the 2nd hour in search of a faster motor.
It was as fast at the end of the race as it ever was any other time in the race.
I had no idea how long a Deasthstar would run and changed out the motor which had fast time and
was leading the race after 8 hrs.
We had to hand that motor in to get a spare and our team never found another that was anywhere as fast.
That was the negative thing about using the Deathstar. There were 2 in the race that were stellar
and the rest were so-so. The fast one our team had seemed to be balanced very well when I was
breaking in the brushes.

In 2002, when Falcons were new, we had a 2 hour enduro for JK at Raceworld/McHenry, IL - no dnf then, but I would have at least two motors on hand for 24 hours ready to swap out...jus in case.

Pretty quiet on that little detail, huh?
Talked to Mark this afternoon; now, you have to understand Mark: because he's still well under The Age Of Reason, he's describing the response to this Le Mans proposal as Young Enthusiastic Guys vastly outnumbered by Old Kvetchers.
Of course, we Wise Mature And Prematurely-Ample types will see it differently: we're-well, we're subtle.
And that changes the whole perspective.
See, Mark, there's been more than that string of doomsaying PMs you've received, far more: that mass gush of pessimism you're reading from all we wobbly osteoarthritic wrecks is actually thinly-disguised inspiration, yesss, you've inspired we cranky fossils and we're all secretly preparing. Yup, we presbyopic pre-incontinent lot are furiously typing No No No while we're thinking Yes Yes Yes; calling our Yoga instructors and booking private sessions, going on training diets, getting orthotic inserts for our shoes, re-reading "Fast Richard" Alpert's Be Here on the Orange Lane Now and browsing online for Ma Huang and teeny light systems. We're just being cagey about it. Teaching you naive GenZ openface types a little poker strategy.
Ohh heckfire, I'll just bust into this salt mine and break the logjam for all: Team F Train is IN.
There. Now, what's a flexi and how do I build it?
