Everybody knows who "Joe Cool" is, but I'll bet not many know who the cat on the front of AJ's Lotus is:

That cat has a National Lampoon or Zap Comics look to it.

The great Fat Freddie's cat... I loved those comics, THE FABULOUS FURRY FREAK BROTHERS, loved when Fat Freddie would blow "smoke" in his face, and get him stoned... he'd be eating the garbage thinking it was gourmet food, then take a dump in FF shoes or headphones... now those were comic books, weren't they? Written by R. Crumb.

I am amazed I can remember Zap comics but not my own phone number and what pinion I run on an F7 vs a TSR.

Gilbert Shelton?
Fat Freddy? Phineas Freak? Freewheelin' Franklin? Wonder Wart-Hog?

I really loved these comics in the beginning of the 80s when they were reprinted (translated) in the german U-Comix-Mag.

Great job!:)

Hey Christian, I'm glad to see this was not strictly an American thing!

Wonder Wart-hog actually started appearing in Hot Rod Cartoons magazine in the mid-60's, without the drug and sexual content of course

Now the Family is Complete.

FFFB F 3-4 22 rr.jpg

A couple of months ago, I painted a Fabulous Furry Freak Brothers body with Fat Freddie in the center, Phineas on the British (Can Am) driver's side and Freewheelin' Franklin on the American (Stock Car) side.

FFFB Controller 24-cropped rr.jpg

They are all giving their "signature salutes", with Phineas giving the classis "peace" sign, Fat Freddie giving the "power to the people" upraised fist pump and Freewheelin' Franklin brandishing his usual "bird" at the world (I edited it in a not terribly clever but period correct slot car related way in order to make the car more "family friendly").

The Honker II body is actually pretty robust. The Joe Cool body has been raced about 5 times and is still holding together.

The new body is very light. I got a new airbrush just after Chrismas and it is like I have never known airbrushing before (actually, it is exactly like that! I had a crap airbrush that NEVER worked great).

This is my first attempt to use the "resized" pictures according to the Bulletin Board Resizing 101. The files are MUCH smaller than original but still seem large.

Keep it in the slot,

AJ

Sorry about the nerf. "Sorry? Sorry? There's no apologizing in slot car racing!"

Besides, where would I even begin?   I should probably start with my wife ...

"I don't often get very many "fast laps" but I very often get many laps quickly."

The only thing I know about slot cars is if I had a good time when I leave the building! I can count the times I didn't on one two three hands!

Love the Freak Brothers! They were supposed to be making an animated movie(!), but I don't think it got past the "internet trailer" stage. What I saw of it was pretty bizarre :D .

It's weird being the same age as Old People.
