An update on our cars. They finished 1 - 2 in the first Proxy round but bad racing luck struck in round 2:
The cars are back at the race team shop as out team owner prepares to supervise repairs:
Putting the pieces back together........
More damage was uncovered. A crack in the top of the fender area:
Another hit might have torn the nose off 
Thanks to Rodney for restoring my baby.

That is just too cool for school! Actual repairs to the damaged car. And to give us progress photos from the speed shop... kudos!

The front end ready for primer:
More damage to the tail end and also the rear fender from dragging the tail around the walls of the outside lane. "Talladega wall riding" with a balsa wood bodied car 
.........
In primer and being inspected prior to paint:
Starting to look like her old self!

She's back in her yellow livery in honor of the great Max Balchowsky and his Old Yeller California Specials that terrorized the European marks of the day:
After a final inspection by the Team Captain..........
.............the California Specials are reunited:
My car is back in its original and "Korrect" number 4:
When she arrives home here at my "Rancho Deluxe Raceway"..........
Top local racer - builder James Wendel is going give her a go!

Great repair job by Rodney on those repairs! One wouldn't have known it was once cracked & broken if Rick hadn't posted the photos of the damage.
