Trans-Am has always been a favorite with me. Each year, I would attend races at Mid-Ohio and Bridgehampton and watch great drivers compete with all makes well represented. Our Historic Trans-Am class features Trans-Am cars from 1966-1971. We found that the 1/25 models of these early Trans-Am racers fit perfectly (maybe with a little stretching) on the TA2 chassis. In the interest of handling, competitive diversity and the KISS principle, we use the same standard track as the TA2 cars and allow for fender flares. All that is required to move from TA2 to Historic Trans-Am is a body swap. Purists may cringe but sometimes compromise is necessary.
