Roger Schmitt is 50 something, Roger is the owner/operator of Mid-America Raceway in Buffalo Grove and Bloomington IL. Roger is also the driving force behind and owner of Mid-America Products. Roger has been active in ISRA and USRA racing for many years.

 

One of the hardest working men in slot car racing IMO.

Jerry Kulich (Former owner of JK Products and Grand Raceway) is 79. The C43 stamped steel chassis, which he introduced just before retiring, is still winning major races today.

John Tore Andersen is 78. 

 

Born Tore John Andersen in Sweden, he moved to California with his family at a young age, where he became a legendary figure in slot car racing during the 1960s and beyond.

 

Andersen is recognized as the only professional slot car racer to have won a national-level race in the "open class" across five different decades.

 

John was also an excellent motocross racer, but suffered injuries that hampered him later in life.
 
"Tore" (Thor's Warrior) is still a legendary name from the California "boom" racing years. He is still active and winning today in retro racing, having stood on the top of the podium in a major event held in CA earlier in 2026.

March 3rd - Herman Alondas James (The Herminator) is 65.

 

 

Herman is always a threat at any ISRA style flat track racing that he participates in. Recently, he branched out and raced in the recent Slot.It USA Nationals that were held at Electric Dreams.

March 12 - Chris Dadds is 72

 

 

Chris has been a slot car track builder since 1987. He makes some of the smoothest, fastest, best looking 1/24 scale tracks and addictively challenging 1/32 scale raceways available. Due to a backlog of work in his carpentry business, he suspended track building for a while. The latest word is that he is again building slot car tracks to order on a limited basis.
