Thanks Steve, we all know that the US and UK have a deep rich slot car history that the rest of the world would be hard to match. That being said, seeing how popular slot cars can be especially where the racers in general are 20 years younger and more gives us hope that we can still increase participation or at least maintain it here.

While we may never see retail shops on this scale again at least we can experience it if we are willing to hop on a plane ;-). There are other shops in the area like Slotmania but nothing as large as Cric Crac.

Thank you, Dennis.   It's nice to see what Cric Crac is in reality.  I have only known it as a name on the 1/32 forums.    Is it maybe the #1 slot shop in the world?   Anybody know of a place that would beat it?

If there is ... my bag is packed LOL

Pendle Slot Racing Club which is also a store in the UK also has great inventory though physically I would suspect it's smaller.

I do have an ache to go and visit with Fola, Frank and the German guys. Might even stop by the "Stupid Fast Racers" in Bruhl, who knows.

Hi Dennis,

let me know if it's ever going to happen. Our club is only 30 minutes away from Brühl, and of course you are invited to visit us too.

BTW, the Nürburgring is also only an hour away from Brühl or Stolberg :D.

I know. I've been that way many times. Benno thanks for the invite. There used to be a very good model railroad store in the area as well. There seems to be a mini hotbed of racing in that part of Germany. Where do you all get your parts from?

I'll be in Berlin for a week in mid-July. If anyone has suggestions for slots to see or maybe even to race.... "Have Controller... Will Travel!"   (Passing through a few Eastern European countries, but unlikely to have time to visit any tracks)

I was able to figure out that I'm going at exactly the wrong times they're racing: Arriving the day after in June, and leaving the morning of race day in July. Ugh! I'll try to see if I can meet anyone there a day or two before I leave to check it out. Sorry I'm missing their race days, though.
