I offered $25 and seller refused; counteroffered $1,000. All I wanted was the Dynamic frame, the rest I would throw away!! I thought $25 was a generous offer!!

Buh... but... It... it's "Vintage"!!

Unrealistic eBay sellers are all nuts!
Especially lately though. They want way too much money for stuff that in twenty years will all be worthless...!
The following generation(s) will consider flexicars as their vintage.

I got a recent refusal, too! I offered $300 to an eBay Seller that wants $1200 for a new in the package Monogram Snake!
https://www.ebay.com...Z48Il:rk:2:pf:0
This seller immediately rejected me and said he has already sold three for that amount and that a different vendor sold one for $1,250!
If that is true then there are some collectors out there that have more money than God!
Unbelievable...!

Is this a topic more appropriate for the eBay section of Slotblog ?
Just saying...

My alarm clock goes off every time I see these exaggerated descriptions and use of colours and large fonts. :-(

Martin, in the Slotblog eBay forum, a thread disappears when the auction closes (6 days). If placed elsewhere, it's retained until...
You missed a thread a few days ago. It said that Matt Bishop was changing his Slotblog name from Matt B to Dale B because it was getting confused with Matt Bruce, another slot racer. My guess is Dale is Matt's middle name, or a name he is sometimes known as.

I also made an offer on a "rare" and "vintage" pit box and was turned down and I actually thought it was a fair offer. The item has since been relisted and the shipping reduced but it's still "rare and vintage."
Also has anyone noticed the scum bag trying to sell the $20 3/32" bearings for $333.00? I have reported her twice but eBay never takes any action.

Same story, "Buyer Beware." If you get into any kind of collectible hobby, you need to educate yourself. A lot of these sellers aren't trying to cheat anybody, they just don't know s*** about what they are selling and have seen a TV show where some fool pays a big price for something similiar. At least with groups like this, anybody can get a consensus on what something in our hobby is worth. Even a seller!

Right. Caveat emptor.
That goofy Mustang II body was crap when it was new. And there were plenty made. The Lotus 30/40 was the hot body when that chassis was in vogue. If that car sells, I have a couple of those chassis, and access to one of those bodies.
$1,000 feeds me for two months.

Just two months, Dave?
Heck, I don't think I spend that much on food in six months! LOL...
