Along this same line, I want to give a shout-out to Matt Bruce.
One of the neatest features of Carsten's gold-standard LapMaster system is a chart he terms the 'actual/potential' calculation. This chart compares a racer's actual lap total in a heat to his theoretical perfect heat where every lap was run at the fastest lap he turned in that heat.
Below is part of the actual/potential chart from the Stock Car race run Thursday. Note that on blue lane, Matt Bruce achieved a 99.9% number. That is, on blue lane he was within 0.1% of a 'perfect' heat. I don't recall seeing that number on this LapMaster chart ever before...
