Here are a few painted 30's I have accumulated over the years. Let see what you guys have.

Well that is interesting. Thanks for this Rodney. Based on this evidence of the painted body stapled to the card I had thought that the riverside body with the rear wing was from Eureka. Post #21
You can see they are made from the same original but the Shark seems crisper, does this mean Eureka back poured the Shark?
Your thoughts please.

Here is the 2 bodies side by side for comparison.
Also an add for Shark Lotus, I am confused You can see the add shows a body with no Riverside wing.
They could have superseded the body at some point. There is only one Shark part number 511 titled Lotus 30 (Steve's list).
The magazine painted chassis car has the same body as the add pic BTW. In the article they say the use a Shark Lotus 30 from the Unique kit.

Hey Mark, thanks for your perseverance, I was having trouble myself, until I shut the PC down and rebooted. Now the old girl is fine.
What you have there is a Lancer Lotus 30 (Clark) a pretty nice shape I would say.
A partial Rick pic credit
Never been much interested in 1/32 or HO for that matter. If I had a small home track that could change my mind but I like the big scale for its driving feedback chassis size etc and its what I grew up with.
But thanks for posting.

You are correct Mark, there is no filler cap on the hood and I see the other difference too. So what brand is it?
MDC is a body I have not seen yet. Could your yellow body this be it?
Found this poor pic and it does look like it could be, same raised intake stacks

Mark did it have "The rivet detail on the side windows" like the MDC?

side rivet detail. wraps around front too not just on sides. What I wonder is if some companies used a few different molds of same car for mass production and they werent all exactly the same for whatever reason.Mark did it have "The rivet detail on the side windows" like the MDC?

For sure they did have mutable molds with detail changes, that has been proven.
Great detail shot of the rivets. So now I am a rivet counter 9 on both the side windows on both bodies.
So can we say it is an MDC body?
That is one I do not have. I am on the search again

Although it's a 40, I thought I would post it to show the difference. As I previously stated, the body was modified to accept the megaphone harmonic wave exhaust trumpets. I hope there are enough rivetes to quench your need for them 😁

Thanks Mark, I will save the rivet counting for later.
Your right about one thing all the Genies I worked on had structural floor pans with hundreds of rivets, pneumatic riveter to the rescue

Talking with Gene about Lotus 30's he sent me this pic which is from a mint boxed Rannalli RTR car.
Notice the body has the rear narrow flipper in rear. Notice also it has only 2 vents either side of the intakes Not the usual 6 .
SO add another variation to the mix.

As I stated I am not a player on this one. It is not the first generation body. That I am looking for.
I am looking for the Shark Lotus 30 body that is on the magazine cover and that came with the early Unique kit.
What to look for. Tear drop shaped intake. also the hood comes up real close to the front of the windshield.
No other Lotus 30 body is like this. Been looking for years. Not full time

I am pretty sure I found a Shark Lotus 30 body. I was able to Contact the seller and buy just the one body from the junk pile he was selling.
Don't laugh it is in really bad shape and it will take some time and effort to fix so I can make a repo for my cover car. But its the only one I have seen while looking for the past few years.
Notice teardrop intake and the front hood line coming close the base of the windshield. It has to be the Shark narrow or early version of the Lotus 30.
To be continued.....

Did you read this Mark?
" I was able to Contact the seller and buy just the one body from the junk pile he was selling"
I have no interest in more projects. I have boxes of old junk bodies.
But to find the illusive Shark Lotus 30 in any condition proves it was made and gives me something to work with.
That is all I wanted from the pile.
