And it all became "Out of focus".
I'd have great difficulty overriding the Gomez Addams effect if I tried trains.
I'll elaborate tomorrow on what I did and didn't do. I'm collaborating with Martin on building a Q-36 modulator. I have to find out if he commandeered the iridium. Then it's

Ok, nothing like a little psychedelic hard rock to calm the nerves. Funny, one would think that 175 Watts of Sansui power would be enough. It's NEVER enough.

If you paint directly in-between the speakers, the sound will spread the paint evenly 💨🤯 but, only if it's turned up to 12

And only if you are spraying from the Back of the speakers to the Front of the speakers.... Little added Oomph from the sound.

Started racing slot cars back at the old Grand Avenue Raceway on Grand Ave. in Chicago, Illinois.
Started with Group 12, moved up to Group 27 and Open.
Still have my two cars and over a dozen arms.
Just recently discovered a track local to me and am looking forward to meeting up with the old timers and new people in the hobby.

Should I play MC5, Blue Cheer or, the White album backwards?
Well, I think I have the paint down. Only problem is making it stick 🧐

Stick some dirty object in a bowl of water between the speakers & you've got an ultrasonic cleaner Breeze.  :laugh2:  :laugh2:  :laugh2:

Mark, give it an acid bath & then see if the paint sticks.  :good: Did you use primer?  :sarcastic_hand: Something you used doesn't with something else you did or used. :heat:

Don't do it! The demonic chants you will hear will cause you to commit suicide.  :diablo:

Just out of curiosity, are you washing the bodies before painting with any kind of detergent? Might be leaving some kind of residue afterwards.

I'm not, just water. it's really got me baffled. Not the lyrics backwards but, the lack of adhesion. Maybe a primer? Billnh had suggested a acid etching variety but, for plastic? I'm considering a soda blast to roughen it up.
Maybe in-between the speakers with Hendricks in the West on ?

I'm going to give it one more shot tonight and use Parma liquor 🥃 mask. And also, I'm going out on a limb and trying the Who, live at Lee's.

Good luck with the paint, you know my advise, mechanical tooth, as in 400 to 600 grit, then a good primer base. Keeping all steps clean.

I am not a painter and my projects are mostly out of a rattle can. But admire your endeavor.  :heat: Rock on Mark.

It's highly possible that I've spent as much time on this as I could have on the real one sitting in my shop.
Here's the inline filter and, another good shot of the grafting.
Letting the Who smash things up saved me a lot of money on this one. I'm thinking King Crimson USA for this next excercise in frustration.

At this point, Mark, I'm going to say it's the paint. Shoot the body with rattle can Testor's black lacquer and see if it takes. If it sticks, you can do your other masking and painting over that. Plenty of time to practice techniques later.

Thanks Dave, I haven't the technical prowess yet to post a link. Last time I tried, I had my thread locked by the powers that be.
The Passhae spits more than a cheap date. There Web site is a enigma. This project is starting to emulate the real one. Maybe yellow Corvairs aren't meant to be painted silver/grey?
I shot the stripes earlier today. I'll post some pictures shortly.
By chance, I do have a can of Patrica black laqour. It's like spraying roofing tar.

That Pactra black lacquer is probably out of shelf life and won't mix anymore. I like Testor's better anyway, but since Rustoleum has shut that down, finding some colors is real hard. Walmart bought up some large quantities of Testor's paint that was sitting in warehouses, as did an Amazon supplier. I have started using Tamya paints, which have become my second choice. But they don't have anything really glossy, so I still have to overcoat with Glosscoat. Their Lexan paints are real good.

Tamia lies. I bought some GLOSS black laqour for a 64 Plymouth. Must only be glossy on clear bodies.
Evidently, the effects of Easy Money (King Crimson)@175 Watts caused the disintegration of the boundary layer that was preventing adhesion{🚫🐂💩}.
I hope.
The amount of harder seems to effect the drying time and also the level of shineyness. It could also be the Friptronics that not only dulled the paint but simultaneously caused it to adhere. I have a VHS of Black Oak Arkansas and King Crimson from a 70's tour. Kind of a odd combination but, Hendricks toured with: hay hay it's the Monkeys. Proving once again," When the going gets weird, the weird turn pro". Or is it, they turn up Hendricks to drown out the moron playing the Monkeys. Idgaf as long as the paint sticks!

Billnh, it's a 50/50 call. Either I suck at this or the paint sucks nowadays.
I think I got it. S**t, I forgot to go to the full version.
Stay tuned

Now for the vair. I wet sanded the hood so, that's the difference from the rest of the truck. At least I don't have to mask it for the clear.
No, I didn't forget the vair. Just don't want to pick it up yet. All I need is two dozen finger prints on it.

The thin stripe outlines proved to be a bi*ch. The thinnist tape I have is too big. I've got a plan B.
What a learning experience this turned out to be. Hope I saved someone from living this nightmare. Speaking of which, it's Pink Floyd: Piper at the Gates of Dawn, music for a good nights sleep.(if it's loud enough.)
