The above photo is not one of a slot car body, but of a piece of artwork.

As I look at it, I see so many of the little things you are trying to pull together into one view. That is so nicely done it is truly a work of art!

Thank you for sharing that with us.

I am humbled by your abilities.

SNAFU? Conspiricy?
not really. just an overwhelmed staff trying to do too many things at once. . . . .
Yes, it was sad that all the cars didn't make it to the judging table. Hell- I painted of half the cars that didn't get entered. Jeeze- I didn't even get mine in there. . . go figure !

Nesta's car was by far the best one out there in the "most Zombiesque" division.
It looked pretty good on the bottom too (when it would go sliding down the driver's panel on the driver's helmet, right, Nesta?). . . LOL
I had the pleasure of mounting it (Nesta's body) on the Vitter built chassis, so I was able to admire the time and detail that Jairus put into it, so we're trying to get two more concours trophys made up for both Nesta and Vitter for their entrys. . .
here's Vitter's entry
Posted Image

Jarius- you went over the top, bud, and it was great that we were able to set the car out for everyone to admire. . . .

I painted this for Nesta (68 Caddy) while back with the hopes of him doing well at the Zombie Classic in Concours. Some sort of SNAFU/conspiracy occurred on race day resulting in half of the BETTER painted cars not being able to participate in Concours. (Pretty sad really).... at any rate, Nesta and I held back for weeks by not posting and showing off his entry so as to surprise everyone at the race, so here it is:
Posted Image

Car is sprayed with black fades and metal-flake green lacquer on the inside. Then the lettering and skeleton figure hand painted on the outside with "One-Shot" enamel.

Posted Image

It's a mix of that Mexican holiday and vintage Pro-car paint fades. I like the combo and will try this again sometime....
Posted Image

The drivers suit is bony painted too!

:)

Special thanks to Keith Tanaka for shooting and posting extra pictures of the #68 car in his race report. Thanks Keith!

sweet!!

I don't hold Jeff Bigelow responsible, ;) I think some things went down during the event of getting the Zombie Classic going and it was lot of
stress going on during the even but it work out OK.
But I wish that Jarius Watson's car would had it's recognition because I was trashing it on the King. :laugh2:
And Jeff I really enjoyed you company and looking forward to meet you again.

Finished up a few for a friend out of Belgum....
The first is a Mini "B".
Posted Image
The body is cut and drilled for mounting screws. Since I don't have the right screws.... it is sitting on a short stack of 4 business cards.
Red, white and green are sprayed on the inside... black and silver were hand painted on the outside.
Posted Image

Electric Dreams Dart II painted in a SoCal surfer theme.
Posted Image
The Ferret chassis needed a slight bit of modification to get the body to fit - like - a - glove!
Logo hand painted a little like a surf board decal
Posted Image

And lastly, a Chaparrel 2J

Jairus,

As always, very nice work indeed!

On the white paint you used on the Mini "B", is that a pearl white? Looks like it has some metallic in it.

Jairus,

I love the "mini B"...the faded checkerboard on the roof along with the front wheel well accents really "do it" for the car. Heck they're all beautiful, but the Dart is superb and really does have an old school surfboard kinda look. In fact, I had a noserider back in the 60's that actually looked like that! Sweet!

Not that I know of... I have a huge box of old molds that I really need to take the time and go through to see what is in there. I know many need repair but have not accessed the damage.

I do not believe it to be a Kirby Nissan, that had a high scoop over the engine. This looks made later, after Kirby left the hobby.

OK it's the OS-040 LeGrande...... Maybe it's an old Associated mold??? I don't think it's an Outisight original from the old days.

Ding ding ding! Yes, the "LeGrande" was one of the names I remember Ron. There are so many cool bodies on your website and the eBay site that I just did what I do in the produce aisle of the supermarket..."I'll take one of those, one of those...and one of those". :laugh2:

No, it's not the Nissan as I thought. I went down cellar & checked mine. The Kirby Nissan has a slight bubble in the motor area, less than 1/8", but not a high scoop. :)
