Finished another project. Well... nearly anyway. This is one of 4 illustrations I am doing for a 1/20th scale Cox motored Funny car. This illustration will be on the back of the box.
Posted Image

This one will go on the front along with the name of the product and a cellophane window. Customer wants speed lines and more 3D look to the dragchute, which are still to be added.

Why is it that usually Richard's are the only replys to my postings on this thread? Noose posts and the responses are numerous.... ah well I care not, just wondering.

No chassis shots. Sorry.

Finished a couple more this morning. Customer says no hurry... but I cannot stare at clear vacuum formed bodies for long before I HAVE to paint something on them! :aggressive:

This Carrera Bostella seemed to be molded in something other than Lexan.... so to avoid painful destruction, was painted with Fas-Kolor acrylics.
Posted Image

Customer wanted a very vintage looking paint for this Choti. Paint is a custom mix aqua with black fades and a little lace thrown in.

Wow!! Gorgeous paintwork, Jairus. I love the fade on the Choti paint job. Lace on slot car paint ain't normally my thing, but that car is striking.

Love the 'vega illustrations too. Reminds me of one I campaigned for awhile when I got out of the Army.

Finished a couple more today.
This one is a quicky for a race where everyone is driving the same Ostrorero 1/32 cars.
Posted Image

Also 1/32 is this Monogram 1932 Hot Rod roadster. With exception of the paint and detailing, most the parts are stock un-modified Monogram. Only changes I made were the addition of plug wires, zoomy headers and the funky shift lever.
Posted Image
Posted Image

Note, this is just a mockup and the wheels are set to receive full moon discs when complete. The wire hanging on the ground is because the customer has yet to set up the chassis for running. I was simply painting the body. :)

Wall-to-wall beauties Jairus and the box art alone is testament to your skill with paint. Gotta say that the Choti is sexy as heck though, one of my alltime favorite slot car bodies of any kind. I recently became the lucky owner of some 1/32 thingie bodies and you and Rick have me inspired to build an all-out downsized thingie (mucho horsepower, poco size and weight). Beautiful work!

Hey, Thank you John! Please show us the progress on that little thingie... :)

I was asked to put a thingy body on a late 60's Plumber GT chassis. Not difficult but a bit of a challenge to get it to fit around that beastie anglewinder Champion motor. Yes, power by Champion as is the chassis. Wheels are Parma front and rear. Body is a Hammerhead by Nostalgic.
Fits pretty well!

The funky reflections in the side pod are actually my aluminum foil covered reflector panel and not in the smooth House of Kolor Lime pearl paint. :)

The Hammerhead is off the charts Jairus. Did you do the striping on the nose by hand or is that a decal?

No decal, it's painted and... it is not perfect. Wish I was better at pinstriping.

Well, they are MINE! And I ain't complaining. $#!t, at least you can pinstripe. ;)

The custom work adds character that can't be found in decals. The RiggenHO East/West Limited Edtion proves that.

Thanks guys. The red is actually Magenta but I couldn't get enough light on it to get it true. Looks better in person.
Nesta, I hand cut everything but the design was taken from an advertisment for that body as it was what the customer wanted.
