Something I recently done Just finished this for the JK Spec Race at Chicagoland, trying to copy or imitate Noose, Jairus, and Beers with something from all of them. I enjoy their work and feel imitating them is a good form of flattery.

dz1,

If I'm not mistaken you won Concours at "Da Sano II" in Can-Am. Is that a true statement?

If it is, very good work!

Yes Marty, I was lucky enough to take the JK Spec Class Concours with that body. I will retire that one and start on something new and different. ( other than a TI22.)

Thank you for your comments.

Finished up only moments ago:
"Mr The King!"

The chassis is stock MPC with front axle brake and sidewinder 36D. Not sure where the body came from but it looks to have been formed over the Monogram 1970 Plymouth Superbird. The same kit I just parted out for the wing on the back of this car.... ( :cray: sniff)

80% of the markings are hand painted... only the little decals are .... ah... decals. Inserts from Al "BWA" Penrose. (Thanks Al!) :bb:
Posted Image
Interior with driver and roll cage are scratchbuilt and Jairus' clothing is from Fred Meyer.
Posted Image
(The windshield/eyes are just paint on Frisket masking material and simply for fun, easily removed :) )

Nice paint Jairus! Not meant as a criticism, but the Chrysler HEMI was 426 cubic inches, destroked to 411 & 404 for the short tracks. 428 was a Ford engine but their race engines in the day were 427 & 429. As an aside, I've only seen 2 NASCAR cup races in the flesh but Richard Petty won them both. First at Oxford Plains, ME on the 1/3 mi. oval in 1968 then Daytona ten years later. :)

Tamiya hard body paint and decal. Painted and decaled twice because the first time the clear lifted the decals requiring a strip and re-do. This time I just laid them on top of the clear with no problem and still looks great! :)

Inserts are resin with model car spinners added.

Why is it that usually Richard's are the only replys to my postings on this thread? Noose posts and the responses are numerous.... ah well I care not, just wondering.

No chassis shots. Sorry.
