I understand some of your frustrations with Elmsford and empathise with you guys. One thing you guys do not realize. Elmsford is not an easy track to maintain. As you all know it is one of the oldest surviving tracks in the country, and it has survived many financial downfalls throughout the years. Unlike many others it did not close its' doors when things got bad. The owners of this track have rebuilt 3 times in order to keep the hobby alive in Westchester. They could have run for the hills like many have in the past, and undoubtablly will do in the future. Instead of you guys busting their balls why don't you guys with the knowledge and experience offer to help bring this amazing, one of a kind track, back to its glory. All I hear is whah whah whah like a bunch of 3 year olds crying that someone broke my toy and stole my milk money.

By the way Noose, please tell me how 20 racers @ $30 each equals $1800.00 I think your calculater is of retro vintage as well. On that note, when you give up your buissiness for a day in order to host a bunch of guys that will treat you like crap, then complain and until then keep your comments to yourself. The man gave up a days worth of buissiness for you guys and all you do is bitch and moan. Maybe he should have hired a wait staff to serve you guys a 3 course meal and a nanny to change your diapers as well!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I understand it's your home track and your loyalty.Rob but you are way off base here. If Lou didn't want us to have the race there then he would have said so when it was scheduled back in September after the first race. He enjoyed the first one so much in fact, he asked at that time if we wanted to get an IM Retro Nats going and I told him let's see how things go after the January race since we had problems back in September. At dinner that night he said all the issues would be taken care of and he was looking forward to seeing us in January.

As for the dollars, I'm glad you can afford to race there. Guys in this series can't on a routine basis. Trust me, come to another race at another track and see what's it like before thinking we all lost our minds that day. We had the same amount of guys for our race this past weekend. Tech started at 10 and with qualifying and 3 mains we were done at 2:20. It was a very, very enjoyable day.

By the way, did your "special area" recover from getting hit from one of the launched cars?

Rob, do you think other tracks don't give up rentals to hold races? We Do!

attacking the racers and calling them babies is no way to make things better or to encourage them to come back.

You are right that Lou has been there a long time and he has been around the block. That tells me he knew right well what he was doing and what the outcome would be.

"The thing that most of us forget is that this is our HOBBY. It is the track owners BUSINESS. Track owners deserve to make a PROFIT."
If we are in a commercial track, and using our dollars, we are customers and deserve to be treated as such. The track owner does not deserve our dollars, they must be earned.

I'm not going to take sides here but both the customers and racers have a shared interest. No tracks, no racing. No customers, no track. A track owner has a variety of potential sources of revenue, racing is only one of them. When the track owner is racer friendly they tend to make more money from racers. If the track owner doesn't want to be bothered by racers that's a business decision. Having it both ways is what creates problems. Tracks are like bars, no two I've been to have the same personality. I hope you can work out your differences and have Elmsford to race at but it does look like there is some details to work out so both sides are comfortable with the outcome. I'd like to schedule a race to come play with you guys in 09.

Well put Mike B. As always, there is a middle ground that is the reality. There are 2 other tracks near me that are full line hobby shops, and unfortunately the "racer" is not their priority, making their business survive is. It's great to find shop owners who cater to the racer, and to anyone who has a shop like that, I say support them as much as you can, especially from the $$$$ standpoint. If they don't carry what you need, talk to them about getting the stuff in rather than ordering it from online.
That said, if an owner tells you one thing and then does another, I think the message is pretty clear where his priorities are.

:D You would have a great time Mike at any of our races. We race to have some fun but when we have track issues we don't have any fun. Our next schedule should be out soon--make some plans to attend!!!

Looks like somebody got their feelings hurt. Listen dude, before you spout off at the mouth, better get your story straight in order to back it up #1. #2 if I remember correctly, some of the bitching, moaning, diaper wearing 3 year olds you refer to were helping you fix your car so you could qualify and race on more than one occasion that day. Where do you get off insulting the very men who in part made slot racing what it is today. The combined years of slot racing experience there that day was about a thousand, many of whom have more laps at that track than anyone and the very same men who share in making up Elmsfords storied history. Bottom line, if Lou needed help, all he had to do was reach out and ask us, like you did. No one ever verbally attacked Lou personally. And you should respect those men first, then try smelling what you are trying to shovel on here.
