the only tip that is a musst, by this year's experience (AND new rules), are "rubber" tires.
Ortmann's or ABslotsport' Ultrathane are great on both kind of tracks. If there is another producer's rubber kind of tires we'll be happy to test them on my plastic Carrera and on Swissracer's wooden track and then let you know how they do.
Otherwise the design of next year's tracks are again very different making any other suggestion pretty difficult to make.
Actually: high torque at low down rpm motors with tallish gear ratios were doing well on all tracks.
Those are the tracks we've raced on his year.
Kind regards
Edo

You do the best paintwork of anybody I have ever seen. Bob Suzuki is another great one in my eyes.
Have you ever thought about doing a thingie for Edos Proxie race?
You would kill in the concours part, and from what I have seen of your vintage motors I know I would be drooling over your entry.
Please do us the honor of building one for next year and enter it.
I thank you so much for posting pictures of that car and I love seeing it get even better with each picture.
You are a wonderful contributor to the slotblog thingie section and your work is first class.
Just wanted to let you know I for one really appreciate your presence here.

Holy Smokes man you are getting me excited. I would love te see a Choti painted and built by you. I know there are many others who would love to see it too.
My friend Ed Blake was just telling me a while back that he would love to see a Choti car done up for Edo's next proxy race.
That's my personal choice. I know you would do a great Shinoda but man, a Choti would be cool.

let me begin by showing you the perils and the tough life Swissracer (Allan) and me have been going through for your the amusement.
Now fasten your seatbelts, please:
A Porsche on a german highway:
A Merc that pushes your behind and a macho driver who won't give way:
An old man at 220K/h:
Important luggage:
"Hey Allan, did you bring the roof of the Porsche?"
Ho Ho:
"Hey Eddie, is that ice I see on my hood?":
"Gee Markus you shoulda see what a trip we had...:
"Don't touch Markus! Eddy and me are the only one allowed to take care of the cars!":
"Hey Allan, can you make the timing system work?"
"Gee Markus, why did'nt we run the proxy here?"
"Is'nt this track cute?"
Anyway here are the winners:
The 1/32 race saw an incredible overturn of the situation, with Mr. America first and the Betta Ferrari and Cacarucha 2nd with the same number of laps:
The best fun and intense race was the Classic where the RTR cars felt like they were made for this track:
No surprises here where that d..n stamped chassis's Riggen Mach 1 was just glued to the track and too fast beating even the most consistent of the series, the Pocket Rocket and the Barchetta).
A honorable mention musst go to the Shinoda Zot which in Allan's (and my hands, modestly) was really a great racer.
I musst say that some of the German drivers, being used with the modern nuts and bolts chassis they race, were not at ease with some of the cars.
The Trantula had it's usual guide trouble which could not be fixed right away and the Pocket Rocket Alien's motor stop mid race and both cars were retired.

Shoot... that's only 136.7 MPH....What does 220 km/h translate in MPH?
My Granny can drive that slow.

Well Markus, you did drive the Mach 1, the Supercuc and Mr. America extremely well but I did not see you particularly shine with others...
Looks like I´ll have to print the whole paperwork...
Re. the "Zot": You did 45 laps on the quickest lane  , I did 44 laps on the most difficult lane  , Allan did 38 laps on the other difficult lane and Walter did 35 laps with a borrowed controller

Practically impossible to blow that motor up, Tom!I am at least satisfied that U guys could not manage to blow up the motor
It got slightly lukewarm only on the Copenhagen's King were it could be pushed to top rpms just for a split second as it was geared so tall
It was definetely the most powerful one in the series, yours first and second was Don's Shinoda Zot's.
Ciao now

Great pictures theres abunch of rules questions that I want to ask you , but one that I would like to know as soon as you have a chance is the depth of the slot of these plastic tracks that you guys race on? Are the wood tracks built to americans standards of slot depth?

the depth of the Carrera track is about 8mm (0.314"). I do not know if all the wooden tracks we raced on were made by American standards but all cars were working.
90% of the 1/24 guides were American made (Cox, Jet Flag) and there is no problem except on Jet Flags it's better to round a bit the front of the blade.
Wiring is positive and all the US or Canadian cars we received worked right away on all tracks without even switching motor to guide wiring.
Dear Tom
as for
look at a pretty common plastic club track as they exist in Italy or in Europe (this is Soragna's Ninco) and tell me if that is for sissies:those sissy plastic road course tracks you guys race on over there
