Hi EdoDid you guys vote?
I voted.
I really don't mean to be a trouble maker, but I think the Hornet in the Classic 1/24 Entries should have been in the 1/24 Fast & Scratchbuilt Entries. It is a Lancer body and a Pactra chassis with beautifully executed custom paint. All the other cars are stock RTR's.
Bestest Regards

we tried to be as fair as possible therefore we thought it was a good idea to limit the Classic to 3 Amp motor draw and allow for up to 5 Amp for F&S.
Because the Hornet's draw was a little less than 3 Amps there it went. The Monza, which is pretty much RTR, has an above 3 Amp draw so it went to F&S as the Stinger did.
Next year we will not impose that Amp draw rule since in any case the different tracks are the equalizer and we might just have one category for 1/24.
We had to do this first experience to learn quite a few things.

Edo seems to be working this week, so let me answer for him - plus I was there! Not that you can tell from the results...
Actually, a lot of different tires worked on this track. It's very much a modern slot car track with polyurethane painted gloss surface. For their retro races, they clean the track and put on light spray glue. But that's also because in their own retro category, they mostly use modern sponge tires. I had these on my F1 car (the Harvey aluminum, with a Versitec SS101 - I went totally vintage, except the tires) and traction was fine. But I used NOS sponge tires on my stocker, and that also had good traction. We ran like this for their retro race on Saturday, but cleaned off the corners before the Thingies raced on Sunday.
Most of the Thingies use the Ortmann or similar tires (like ABSlotsport's new ultraurethanes) and traction was generally pretty good - sometimes too good! But there were a few cars that were sliding around, especially the Sonic Needle from Denmark I think. It looked like it had the same kind of tires, but just couldn't get any traction. I don't remember all the other details of how the cars ran: but the two modified Dynamic chassis "Firebolt" cars loved this track!

thanks for the compliments which we share with the partecipants who made possible this success! Now remember to set up your entry in such a way that it runs on all kind of tracks and not only on monster King's. That means not too tall gearing and "rubber" tires to begin with. Super killer motors are not so important we noticed.
After the last round in Munich on the 25-26th of June we will publish a run down of suggested tuning tips that worked.
Kind regards
Edo

OH...NO...I'm going to send you a missle to fly around ,over and thru your tracks  and a bag of gears to gear the car per the track that it is running on, or is the car to be raced as it is sent to you and can not be touched?

Dave...or is the car to be raced as it is sent to you and can not be touched?
I'm afraid it has to be set up by you and sent ready to race.
What we will do is publish here pics and info of the tracks the 2007 Proxy will be raced on in a few weeks with the rules (some changes but basically the same as this year's).

Mike, next year we have planned to go only to tracks reachable by car as I run out of banks to hold up...Except, off course, if the Convention would host the proxy's US round...

We will enjoy outrageous meals prepared on my La Cornue (o.k, send an oven, too ;-)) while the Dokkster will suffer from French beer and sh..loads of mustard his ole body can´t take any longer. Not to forget that he will have to be among FRENCH people... Pooooohhhhh...
And I know who will have MORE FUN!!! I bet it´s Edo, Allan and me. 8)
À bientôt,
Markus
