Great idea Duffy,Final version for scrutiny. To keep Duffy happy and make it short, inboard pins to locate on the jig. 6 pairs of hole on ither side to accomidate builders and one set is correct for Parma/Champ length clips. Sort of solves the retro problem of getting pin tubes always the same, chassis to chassis, build after build. TY Duffy for the great idea.
And I thought my regular cam (batteries are dead) was the worst on the planet, I had to snap this pic with an old web cam. Now I am convinced I have to worst TWO cams on the planet. LOL
But you'll get the idea.
Rick, was there any thought when creating the pin hole spacing to "kit" type cars? (JK spec,,JK f-1,,Warmac,,Slick-7 f-1 and Can Am, ect.....). Just wondering because there are so many of these type builds being raced. I made a little jig based on JK Spec spacing, and thats what I use for all my Can Am builds. Makes swapping bodies very easy.
Build it, Race it, Break it, Fix it !

VERY good point. Can you throw a caliper across those and post, so Rick can compare??Rick, was there any thought when creating the pin hole spacing to "kit" type cars? (JK spec,,JK f-1,,Warmac,,Slick-7 f-1 and Can Am, ect.....).

PS: what the hell, give as many chassis spacing mounting holes you have and this will be a universal tool. The Duffy Pinner version 1.2 LOL

Bill, I used Testors RC metallic red paint. The pictures don't do the color justice.

After a day of not-choosing kitchen backsplash tiles and not-prevailing against arthritis in mastering the toughest five bars of Christopher Tye's Sit Fast, looks like Dolorous Duffy should do a little self-empowerment and lay out bits&pieces for a Lotus 11. It's time.

The body's a Howmet repop of one Fate supplied, I dunno the pedigree--and the motor you see here may not be the final choice, it wants some new bushings and I may not have lathe access in time. Beater wheels are Swiss rims, cut to Fate's "64" rule: 7/8 x3/8 rear, 3/4 x 1/4 front.
The rest--it will be rod. It will be green.

The venue is Dubro repopped by Mike Gillett in the 80s. It came out of a discussion Gillett and I had back then about cars we did for fun like the Lotus 7 and 11 that could never be intended to be competitive. Part of the discussion was having revell track and racing smaller 1/24s on it.

I went pretty much JailDoor here, and used a TSRF 3215 motor for the first try because I wanted to deal with one variable at a time--this'll be a beater, I'll get more geeky later. Bracket and guide widget by me.
The chassis has nothing out of the ordinary 'cept maybe the drop arm--I got to playing with my R-Geo bender and came up with the interesting Fromage-Fourchette structure you see here.
Wanna have the body painted & mounted by Saturday for Buzzies. The rubber for this is Fate's-rule 7/8x3/8 rear, 3/4x1/4 front; "Silongies" in this size may be a later addition.
Good to be working on something again.

What's here? Lotus 11 (too silly to build IMO), Gurney/Pacesetter Lotus 19, Ferrari 33P2 (Russkit resurrection), Maserati 300S, Aston-Martin DBR1, Cooper King Cobra.

Have I seen Howmets Ferrari P2? We had a non-race last weekend after the "proper" race just among the geeks for these. There is a local track used for womps and I-32s with 3" lane centers. Meaning no "proper" 1/24s!
So, did a race with a Aston Martin DBR1 with a dynamic frame and pittman 706, a Maserati 300s with a 706, a Cooper king Cobra with a Cox 36d inline. My tifosi friend was complaining I had not gotten around to restoring that Dino I have!
