This is my last build, a z rail sidewinder with a bronze center rail. This was inspired with conversations with Mike Swiss. It won one race this season in the Midwest Series and a top two car in my box.

Very nice work! I like the metal in-lay at the front end.

I did the tungsten in lay with a 1/16 end mill. The .032 brass piece was temporarily glued to a plate for the milling.

Nice car joel!

The next big Gravity race is St Patty's day weekend in Milwaukee. Good luck to all racers!

Possibly the fastest inline car i have built, this is the 8th place car at the Nats last year driven by hotshot Craig Reynolds of Florida. I ran into him with 15 minutes to go in practice and with only about 10 minutes to prepare and try the car on a couple lanes. He was awesome.

When Craig was a kid his folks would drop him off for the day to race in Indiana HOPRA. Sometimes that was 100 miles or more! He was brought up right.

Nice guy Jerry Craft of Colorado now owns this car.

I have been working on this a couple years. Bob Collaran tried it out in Boston at the Nats last year. It was 1/2 to 1 second off the pace.

Do the standard H0 pinions fit the shafts of these can motors, or have they to be bushed somehow ?

As far as I have seen there have been used a few different can motors. Do the all have the same shaft dia. ?

standard HO pinions are usually for 1.5mm shafts.

some Lifelike cars has pinions that are 1mm shaft.

these tiny motors are mostly 1mm shaft.

you can sleeve with ss tubing or try using the Lifelike pinions.

Not a lot of activity on here lately so I thought I'd post some pics of a TycoPro gravity car I did last year.

Nice collection of old classics! I like the side winder rail with the exposed drive gears

out the side. What's the story with the Riggen(?) with the 2 propellers out the back?

John PlayLand in Gary was out of my bicycle range. It was on Broadway at about 45 th street and by 1968 or so it was gone. i remember it being there as a child because it was on the way to my Uncle/Aunt 's house. My cousins went there but I saw it from the back of a car, passing by.

But I had a raceway 5 blocks from home so i was suffering a misspent youth.  :D
