Plain old baby powder will take away the shine also. Mix it in the paint or sprinkle in on after painting (while the paint is still wet).

Allan, Noose,

Thanks for the advice.

Also to Jairus who PM'd me with a lot of good info.

PS: Noose, notice how I didn't mention Dave Bloom's name once? :) :) :)

Notice how I didn't mention Dave Bloom's name once?

You were taught well. :laugh2:

Actually, back then Dave and I used Floquil paints to letter with. They don't stick anymore cuz they done took all the xylene or toluene out of them.

Why not just use flat paint, and be done with it?

The $0.79 acrylic craft paint from Wally World works very well.

For interiors it does work well but I wouldn't use it on the outside for lettering. Would take too long to do lettering for one. That's why One Shot is One Shot!

The acrylic craft paint I tried wasn't good enough to deface someone's car with, let alone
paint a slot car interior with.

Many people use it. It works well. And it looks more realistic than One Shot.

Ask Cheater and Lou Cicconi what they thought of the interiors I painted with Wally World craft paint.

If you're happy with it, great. My experience with that type of paint was so poor, it sent me off to buy $45 worth of One Shot.

We don't have a Wally World here in Chicago. The stuff I got from Jo-Ann Fabrics covered so poorly you needed three coats to just get it to the point of looking crappy.

Ah hum... now back to the regular scheduled program of painiting.

These are for Retro East's own "Flying Scot" Matt Bruce. Both of these were Matt's choices for his two wins where I donated bodies.

His new O/S Ferrari:

Killer colors and lettering on that Ferrari.

Looks like with the new IRRA JK Spec Class, Noose is going to "do" some JK Ti22s.

Good timing. I get to send them to him in one of my new shipping boxes.

FWIW, I think the "scrapple talk" posts can be deleted.

I agree and have done just that.

Tex,

Look at the masthead: it says "Slotblog", not "Foodblog", doesn't it? LOL!!!

I hope you feel we're not real quick to punch the delete button here, but when a thread starter asks us to clear out off-topic stuff, we usually will accommodate if we feel it is appropriate.

I know you weren't too quick to delete the posts; it took four days before Joe was convinced to ask you to do the deed. I communicated with Joe. I know the more complete sequence of events. You and I both know who REALLY instigated the deletions and it wasn't the thread starter. It's one thing to ask you to delete posts in their own thread, but asking another thread-starter to ask you to have posts deleted... (insert expletives here).
