Noose is correct. The 47+ degree banking on my King creates an incredible amount of downward "G's" when you enter the bank. Much more than Gerding etc. F1's at .050" clearance have deeply gouged the surface and play hell on the braid. Anything running at .040" would be a disaster.

WOW!! Didn't realize you have clearance issues!! But it's still great that you run the class!! Out here it's a "balls out" driving class because the horsepower and handling make these little missiles!! We're turning lap times in the 3.2's and qualifying has been in the 3.0's!!! It's a FUN class---but you have to SURVIVE it also at those speeds!! Have fun!!

Mike, are you sure it's the rear clearance, and not the front, that's causing the issue? And why just F1s? I'm curious. And we are talking standard IRRA® rules of 0.015" front, 0.050" rear clearance, correct?
I am not a doctor, but I played one as a child with the girl next door.

Standard IRRA® .015" front and .050" rear is correct. And I'm fairly sure it's the rear since Can-Am uses the same front clearance and doesn't seem to cause any track damage. I believe it's that the F1 are more flexible front to back and generally a bit heavier.

Is there any thought of adding the new track at Haven Raceway in Elyria to the ORS schedule next season?
