I just got an email from G&G in Griffith, IN, and they said that they never had a purple only a blue King. John Ford thinks that there were six to eight built so we are trying to locate where they were or are.
I know where mine from Framingham ended up unfortunately, and we know where Tim's from the 1990 Nats ended up.
Anybody with any information on where you saw one or raced on one would be great.
Were the Sovereigns from Farmingham and Georgia destroyed?

Modelville has some of the best tracks in the Country, but very few events scheduled..or even a calander of future events. Except for our NECC Race in May....there are no other races...and that is a problem in my book if we are to see continued Slot Car Racing in New England.

Thanks for the Modelville calander of events. It should be noted that on the 4th Wed. of each month, the Nantasket Beach Race Club holds an H O race on the Bowman Champion track. First race starts about 7:00pm. We have quite a few 1/24 scale drivers who also race H o. Peter Lentros has already contracted with Brad Bowman to build an H O Purple Mile for the Modeville race facility.

Here is just a quick video clip. I have a lot of video which needs editing. YouTube later. You will need Quicktime so if your a PC download it, you should already have if you have ITUNES. For you Mac people, you already made the correct choice in the beginning. Oh here comes the flames!!!!!
This was the first time a Sovereign has been run in 30 years.

negative Ghost Rider... the Georgia Hobby Center's Purple Mile in Fayetteville GA was in operation until 1993 or 94. And then was in operation for a year or so in north Georgia. By my math, that's a little less than 30 years. More like 17 years.

In this bright future you can't forget your past.
BMW (Bob Marley and the Wailers)
United we stand and divided we fall, the Legends are complete.
I'm racing the best here at BP but Father time is much better then all of us united.
Not a snob in this hobby, after all it will be gone, if we keep on going like we do, and I have nothing to prove so I keep on posting because I have nothing to gain.
It's our duty to remember the past so we can have a future.
Pistol Pete you will always be in my memory.

Lovely got to make a trip over there to have a chance to put a ride on the slot.
Be sure to let me know when you're coming. I'll plan to drive down so we can hook up! Back in 1969-71 I lived close enough to that location to walk there in 5 minutes.
I intend to live forever! So far, so good.

Way cool Bill, you see Flygirl always wanted to travel to East Coast, and I would love to turn laps on a great track like that one.

Take a week off in the summer, go to Boston. Stay downtown so you don't have to pay the parking garage rates ( don't get me going on this) It's way COOL lot's to do. Then take the 45 minute trip to the track one day. Last year when I was in Boston I would have loved to do that, but that's was in the middle of their move.

Those who are thinking of coming to MVH - if you can plan on being here a few days - or longer - there are many wonderful things to do and see in the region. History. North Atlantic seafood. Science and education. Cape Cod and the coast of Maine. Oval racing in New Hampshire, road racing in Conneticut and short ovals for weekly racers. Oh, and a great slot car raceway too!
Cheers!

Everybody has been asking about times so here goes. The fast times in 1990 on Tim's track were 7.5 seconds as far as I can remember, Mike Swiss what do you remember?
As you can see we were almost twice as fast. See the attached picture that shows the laps and
fastest times by class.
The OLD LADY took this in stride.
Hope to have a redo of the 1990 NATS next year inviting everybody (those still alive or maybe not) who raced as an invitational. Who knows I am still pondering the logistics.
In either case now focusing on an HO Purple Mile.

7.5 second times at the Georgia Hobby Purple Mile were more along the lines of Stock Flexi times!
I think Swiss went 3.6 or 3.7, IIRC.
A couple months after that I broke Mike's qualifying record with a Camen powered GTO chassis. I think I ran a high 3.4 sec lap in qualifying for a USRA race.
