You bet it'll be cool to see/race and hang out with ol' Joe Chevy, he's a good guy. Makes great chassis, too! I think they've been A Main cars many times...It is fantastic to know that our old friend Joe Chevy, one of the nicest guys you'll ever race with, is coming back!!!

The Checkpoint Cup dinner after the Can-Am race is open to anyone interested in joining us. It's meant to be a gathering of racers and people interested in slot car racing.
It's a great opportunity to meet new people and those you race with to spend some time together after the race.

In order to finish Friday night before midnight (yes, that late!), I switched the Jail Door race from Sunday to Friday, after the Retro Pro race.
Sunday will be the F1 followed by Retro32 inline race and then Retro32 Anglewinder race.
The Socald3.com website race schedule has been revised for the Checkpoint. Check it out for the starting times, details for each day: race schedule
BPR will open 7 am on Friday and Saturday, 8 am on Sunday. First race on Friday will be the Stock Cars (NASCAR) on the Kingleman. Stock Car tech opens at 8:30, closes at 9 am.
Each race will have tech open 1 hr. after the previous race and tech closing 30 min. later. Friday will be a very busy day with 4 race classes. We need to move each race along in a timely manner in order to finish before midnight.
Saturday will be devoted to the Can Am race, prize raffle and then the after race dinner at a local restaurant. We want everyone to attend the dinner. Please respond to the online poll if you intend to be at the dinner as we need a headcount to plan the dinner.
Sundays races will start with the F1 on the Flat track. Tech opens at 9:30 am and closes at 10:00. Retro32 inline tech opens 1 hr. after F1 race ends and closes 30 min. later. Retro32 tech opens 30 min. after inline race and closes 30 min. later.

Mill, the reason I decided (after a suggestion from a resident expert) to have two separate races is that some of the racers who will run their anglewinders also would like to run their inlines, but can't when you run both in the same race. Why would we not run the 1/32 inlines and anglewinders together as we did at the Boola Bash ?
Also, since we now have a perpetual trophy which lists each class separately, it would be nice to have a separate race for each. The Anglewinders are
much quicker than most of the inlines and i'm sure it would be a lot of fun to see the inlines running a much closer race among themselves than be
passed every so many laps by the anglewinders.

BPR opens at 7 am on Saturday. The handout motors will be available as soon as possible after the raceway opens. The King track will be cleaned/spray glued first thing Saturday morning. Can Am tech will open at 10 am and end at 11 am.Am I correct that the Checkpoint CanAm race will be a handout motor race? If so at what time will the motors be available for purchase?

The motors will have secret marks and will only work if you also purchase the secret decoder ring.
