Mike, thanks for posting you're inquiry. The Slotblog "Calendar" was incorrect. I updated the SoCald3.com website race schedule, but forgot to update the Slotblog Calendar. Is the calendar correct about what classes are run on each day. One of the posts here said Jaildoor would be on Friday after RetroPro.
The Jail Door race was switched to Friday, after the Retro Pro race.
The Retro32 races (inline, anglewinder) will be on Sunday after the F1 race.
This switch was made due to the possibility that we will have more Retro32 races than Jail Door races.
The original schedule for Friday would have ended in a very long/late day, therefore we switched the two races.

The race entry fees for the Checkpoint will be $15, $12, $10, $8. If you only enter one race per day, it will be $15 each day.
For the Checkpoint we have added expenses which we do not have for our monthly races, therefore a higher entry fee is needed to help cover costs of staging this big event.
Hopefully in the future we will get more sponsors (revenue), but until then we need to have every entry help defray costs (race plaques, new Retro32 trophy, webcast). We will have a prize raffle ($1 tickets) this time and hopefully we can raise some money to help with our expenses.

Mill, after checking out some local restaurants (vs. Knott's) I decided to have our dinner at the Marie Calendar's on Orangethorpe, just west of Valley View.Keith, which restaurant did you and Paul decide on for Saturday night ? Thanks, Mill
This particular location has a nice size separate dining area in the back corner portion of the restaurant. Although it's not a completely isolated dining room, it is divided from the main room and by the time we use it (8 pm to 11 pm), there probably will not be very many people in the main dining room to disturb.
We will have a buffet with a selection of several entries, drink (non-alcoholic), salads, and desert. Alcoholic drinks are available (at added cost to those who want hard drinks). There is a separate bar area for those who want to drink/talk before or after the buffet dinner.
For those who cannot eat the buffet entries offered, they will have a choice of what's on the regular menu, but almost everyone will be using the buffet.
The cost will be $16.95 plus tip (18% for groups) and tax. The total per person is $22.

Marie Callenders? They Blow....They Suck....And they ?..... Anywhere .... But not Marie Callenders. Ya know Keith I have the up most respect for you! I always have from the first day I met you .... And I always will . Check it out Keith, when I leave the SACTO area at about 1:00 AM Friday morning for BP and the "2011 CHECKPOINT" it will be with a heavy right foot so I can eat Breakfest at "Imperial" before BP opens at 7:00 AM Friday morning. Yep, I'll do lunch there also, as far as dinner goe's for Friday..... There won't be one for me, for the simple reason I'll be back at the Hotel room working on my ride's
Come Saturday morning .... Breakfest at "Imperial's." BUT NO LUNCH though.... I do not want a "HEAVY" trigger finger BUT come Saturday night.... I'm going to be one hungry Slot Racer remember a couple of years ago Keith when a bunch of us went driving around to various restaurants? (WOW ....It's been that long since I touched a "D-3" ride) .... Only to find them closed We then found a place that had the lights on.... We all had some grub and shot the "BS" about slots. That place had a "KILLER" Avocado/Ham/French Roll Sandwhich, ya know Keith.... I never caught the name of that place!
As always Keith,
Your friend, Dave

I did not know that you had been elected foodmaster for the Checkpoint, hey?
You always have the option to escape that horrible pie dump and abscond to some serious greaseball-serving burger house, there are plenty of them around BP.
They can get their own, I already have a hard time to keep up with the payments for my Ferrari from the sales of D3 motors.PDL..you buying the Petrus for everyone?

Dave, yeah I know Marie's is not the best, but it's not easy finding a place near BP which can handle 30 to 50 slotracers for dinner. Knott's was ok, but the pollsters indicated that "any" restaurant would be ok. In the future, I hope we can find a better place. Suggestions are welcome for the 2012 Checkpoint.Marie Callenders? Please list the rubber we can run at this year's CPC race.
what are the regulations for tires...can we run any rubber available, ( including Alpha Wonder, Thunder Retro, Kelly,...) or are we limited to what is available at BPR, (currently the only D3 rubber available at BPR is JK, and a few Kelly's). We all know these other tires are faster, but not available at BPR?

p.s. I BELIEVE THAT THE ONLY RUBBER OUTLAWED AT THIS TIME IS SPEED RUBBER, AND MAYBE SILICONES. MAYBE PHILLIPPE, PAUL OR KEITH CAN CLARIFY THIS ?

Yes, this would be good to know in advance. Especially so we don't show up with the wrong tires, or need to order tires prior to the event.

Paul has stated many times in the past that whatever tires we use must be available over the counter at BP. The only tire that I know of which can be used and isYes, this would be good to know in advance. Especially so we don't show up with the wrong tires, or need to order tires prior to the event.
not available at BP are the Swiss Jail Door tires. Speed rubber is not allowed.
If you are using tires which are not the regular ones we use at BP, then you need to show/tell Paul this weekend at BP to confirm if they are approved to use.
According to the tech sheets, everyone has been using either the JK, ProTrack (Jail Door), Kelly or Alpha rear tires. The Kelly and Alpha rear tires have only been used by a few of the racers, whereas the JKs are used by most of the racers.

Herman, any tire change after tech inspection requires a tech again. Tire changes are not common in our regular races.I plan on making this race since the family will be shopping in la. I remember in the jaildoor enduro some teams wereputting on small tires during the race. Will this b e allowed or will cars changing tires be reteched

2. We know that Alpha and Thunder rubber is rountinely used in Retro racing with CanAm's on high speed King tracks(because it is faster), and it has been proven faster on BPR King track.
3. D3 Alpha Wonder and Thunder rubber are not stocked at BPR.
Keith, please advise,
A] should we purchase Alpha Wonder and Thunder rubber this week ourselves, (spending money on tires that may not be legal at the CPC race)?
B] or hope that BPR will have it next weekend ?
C] or should we just plan to use what is normally available at BPR, JK rubber ?

Good to hear that you are coming down to race.

Sorry, but I can't make those decisions. Ask Paul at BP this Saturday or Sunday. I didn't know anyone has used Thunder rubber. The Alpha and Kelly tires have been available at BP in the past.1. The only D3 tires at BPR are JK and a few Kelly's, Alpha and Thunder rubber is not, (I spoke with the owner at BPR today).
2. We know that Alpha and Thunder rubber is rountinely used in Retro racing with CanAm's on high speed King tracks(because it is faster), and it has been proven faster on BPR King track.
