If this track did not have enough power then it should not have been ran..... did the host not understand that many of these Thingies have rewound arms?? Many of these even with stock motors pull about 1 amp no load, not .045 amps or less like many 1/32 toy motors that are designed to run on little wall paks! Come on!

If this race did not go as I spelled out to Jordi then we may have to bypass whatever the results were and focus on London. I take full responsibility for Spain. It was not Jordi's fault, it was mine. Anyone who has Facebook can clearly see that Jordi is a slot car guy to the core. He knew the situation and understood what was required of him. The problem as I see it were probably the other drivers around him. I suspect they didn't understand that the drivers are not important in a proxy race, and that it is the cars that are the stars. Therefore.... I may have find another track to make this proxy an even 10 races as planned or simply halt everything at 9. That decision is mine and mine alone.
Of course the entrants here are free to voice opinions, as they already have here and on Facebook. But, please make those opinions constructive and helpful first and foremost.
I will not make any decisions until I hear back from Jordi and Angel regarding the race that happened yesterday. So far all that has come out of Spain is the post Low put up this morning (Thanks Steve) along with an apology from Jordi regarding the lack of reporting and the three damaged cars. No I do not know which were damaged. We may have to wait until London to find out.
Soon as I know anything, you will know!!!
At this point... I am simply bending brass rails at my bench waiting for a confirmation number to tell me that the cars are in the mail!
That is all.

First, and most importantly, thank you Jairus for doing all this, we must not be tempted to blame you for the failures in Spain.
You did everything you could, including sending a pre-race test car (which I had a hand in) to test the track surface.
The lesson learned, in my opinion, is no more Spain in the future. Jairus has hit a lot of home runs in this series, and now he whiffs one time and you guys are all up in arms. Jairus knows it went bad, so why punish him any more at this point ? Let's keep a good attitude and move on.
Secondly, Ray, and others, brought up the lack of communication. Rightly so. Let me tell you guys, with my experience in sending one of my test cars over there, and speaking as a qualified Naval instructor to teach advanced Navigation and Human Rights to Spanish speaking officers for years, the lack of communication was NOT caused by language difficulties. It was, in my opinion, a lack of cooperation and enthusiasm on their part. We knew this, we talked about it, yet Jairus still made the decision to hold the race as planned. Now I'll bet he wishes he hadn't. But does any one of you blame him for thinking positive and trying to pull it off ? I had a VERY hard time communicating in my dealings with regard to the test car, and I ASSURE you, I read and write pretty darn good Spanish. So, get that out of your head.
Third, my vast experience in visiting Spanish speaking countries on official business has taught me time and time again, many Spanish speakers do not understand their own language, and, in fact, have problems communicating amongst themselves. This is one reason why the USA is the best country on Earth. Did you know airline pilots the world over are required to speak ENGLISH on the radios ? Why is that ? Because it is the BEST language. Same situations for pilots of large ships, on the radios they MUST speak English.
Fourth, when one translates text from one language to another, it is tricky, even for experts. It is NOT an exact process. Some of the terms they use in the above text, I've never heard of, although I can make an educated guess.
Hope that helps, and I had to step on some toes to do it but you cannot make an omelette without breaking some eggs......

Seriously tho, the Spanish round had the possibility of being a good one, and I'm happy that Jairus took a punt on it.
It didn't work out that way, which is a bummer, so lets pick up the pieces and move on.
We know better for next time.
I agree with the previous thoughts about having some guidelines for venues and hosts. It would help the circus run smoother.
On to London.

I believe that Jordi, pictured above, has sincerely done his best for the Dynamic Challenge and he should be given the benefit of any doubt that can be mustered. Angel came to the Challenge late and has provided a first rate track and a crew of drivers at the very least. While we're still awaiting the information that ties individual car's performance with the driver's results posted earlier, the jury must remain out on the validity or otherwise of the Barcelona round.
Jordi is aware of the dissatisfaction expressed here and on Facebook and will be pressing for more information and getting the cars mailed onward as soon as possible. This week is his self-imposed target. Fingers crossed, as is the usual attitude with these round the world ventures.

To the best of his recollection the 'Tron' car, ie that belonging to Edo, was one of those damaged and one car had a burned out motor and another a 'twisted' axle. If that is the three damaged cars or Edo's has one of those afflictions, we'll have to wait and see.
Jordi says he will mail the cars to me on Wednesday.

It must have been cold in that room so that would be helpful for the race motors IF they had an "easy" warm up.
Guess the guy did all he was capable of doing.
Steve, Thanks much for the posting and updating for the non-facebookers.

Angel post in native language:

Conclusion: In my limited experience with these cars, I have to give a briefexplanation No. s.en all vehicles principle difference in driving to and also to say that the pilots of this race I are not included in these vehiclesexpiremintados and some I wanted to pilot the vehicle could not do what Ialways think it is the pilot who has to adapt to the vehicle and not demand so we do not give it.
(5-Very good car) (1-Good car) (20-Good car, but ran for wearing rubber tires and their behavior is not appropriate for track hera) (3-Good car skidded a bit long and a lot) (11-Very good car, I was driving, horn that broke my guide) (6-Very good car, but had occasional out front) (12-good car, pole to loosena wheel) (22-good car) (14-Very good car, CAR WINNER) (4-good car) (2-Very good car) (9-good car) (6T-good car, but had bent the rear axle and do not leave runs) (42-Good car, but very low diameter wheels scraping on the track) (7-Good car) (26 'Good drive) (10-Good car) (19-Good car, but littlemotor revulicionado) (15 - good car but very loose-front car was broken) (25-good car, but very unstable back) (16 'Good drive) (21-good car) (18V-very good car) (17V-very good car) (23V-good car, it ran, bouncingrubber tires a lot.
Any car Balor very good car could have been the winner.
Thank you very much and greetings: Angel Arcarons
Not all the car numbers match up with my records with what was posted on the cars at the beginning. I suspect some of the cars are still numbered by stickers left over from Switzerland or Germany.

I might be the one with the bent axle and if that is the case then the full fender body is might have cracked.
Or, the car sat on its own weight to long for the vintage rubber to come back round in the cold temps.

if thats the case, when it gets to KEMPSON,if he inspects and finds it broken, pack it up and send it home,,,,
im done with the dallying thats gone on of the races, and the subpar tracks and drivers Melbourne & in Europe,,,
those cars were treated LIKE GOLD here in the USA,and in Sydney too,
after that im suspect to the people that drove these, and beat em up so badly,,,,,
in my opinion after the first 3 races and EDO's,the other 3 have been A JOKE,,,
this was my 1st PROXY to enter a car,,,and did it semi blindly, not knowing anything of them,,
i'll be alot more leary where my stuff goes,,,when i enter another time
ive driven in 2 proxy 32nds in the last 3 months and those cars were driven and treated like GOLD,
all the drivers,,were extremely carful,,,driving all of them.......im thinking ours were not...
just venting my opinion and frustrations,,,,
