You could also cut notches (to create "fins") in it for a little more surface area.
A little info on thermal grease.

The one is "Victory Bat Pan."
The other is "Tokyo Rose," a Hanada Can-Am Chassis, built by John with his famous flat rails as the main rails of the chassis.

Having had a wisdom tooth extractedlast Tuesday, I felt so tired that I came home earlier than usual these days.
To forget the pains in mouth, I painted 8 Can-Am interiors at a time.
Now, I will have to paint EIGHT bodies.
Good racing.......& painting,
Haruki

Hi, Noose,You sound like me working, LOL
That was my last wisdom tooth, meaning I will not "work" like this again.
Hello Bill,Very nice looking interiors, Haruki! I like how you were able to paint 8 at once, yet giving each a unique look.
Thanks for your compliments.
Mostly I used Sharpies.
Its silver is very good, much better than Japanese markers in that color.
I also used Japanese markers(water-based) with sparkles.
To me, who is not a good painter,it is much easier than to use brushes.

The motor bracket is a short version; a motor is placed closer to a rear axle by 1.5mm (.059 inch).
All the rails are .055" wires.
A bite bar restricts the movement of pans, rear parts of which are cut off for weight reduction.
The chassis weighs 55.7 grams.
If a car with this chassis works well today (Saturday), I will race it at our Tokyo D3 Can-Am race on Sunday.

I have just finished building a new Can-Am chassis.
It is the same concept one which I entrusted to Marc Franco at the Western States.
Nice work. The main rails are very interesting. How does the car handle?

Good looking chassis. Neat idea to use earring backs to brace the bite bar mounts.

All great stuff coming out of Cheerio Speedway!!
Here is the Hanada kit which you gave me at the Western States. I used the rear motor plate also. 101 grams. Wish me luck as I will be running it tomorrow at BPR in the D3 Can Am!!
Say hello to Yoshi for myself and everyone at BP!!

So I have painted a couple of interiors.
I have got a plenty of nice painted bodies and interiors from Noose but I keep those in my closet because they are too nice to put on my chassis and race and crash.
Painting interiors is a kind of addiction to me.[ img]http://slotblog.net/public/style_emoticons/default/crazy.gif[/img]

Akitani-san is one of our master builders of Retro chassis, whose builds have been presented in this topic.
Another builder, Kamo-san has just sent me the photo of what he has done for building two chassis, one for himself and the other for me for the Checkpoint Cup.
I am so impressed with his way of building chassis, it is so organized!!
We have such excellent racers/builders as Akitani & Kamo-san at Tokyo D3, which makes me so happy to have started this racing program here in Tokyo after a long absence of real slot racing activities for 15-20 years.
Good racing,
Haruki
