Kamo-san has finished building two of his original Can-Am chassis.
I will take one of them to the Checkpoint Cup.
This is what he has built for me over the end of the year for the Cup.
Looking forward to seeing you all at BPR very soon,
Haruki

All in all very good looking stuff. Let me know if you need a chassis tester in North America!!!!!

Interseting touch on the guide flag hole. Looks like they were touched slightly with a mill to make sure the surfaces on both sides of the "drop arm" are flat and parallel. Were they machined?

too late steve, all US TESTERS are out here at BPR,,,
but if you ever get a chance to get a Hanada chassis ,either a kit & do it yourself,,or do like ive done and paid a MASTER BUILDER Mr.Kamo-san,to build one for you, "they are fantastic"

Hi Steve,
Are you mentioning Kamo-san's build?
He uses Mike Swiss's Chicagoland Raceway's brass coined guide tongues (3/4 inch wide) with steel braces (also from Chicagoland) soldered to them.
Thanks a lot for your interest in our Tokyo D3 chassis.
Good racing,
Haruki

Steve,
Yes it looks like he "faces" them to get them perfectly flat and burr-free for the best guide rotation possible.
Very nice, meticulous work.
Because he trimmed back my steel guide brace back to the edge of the coining, I didn't even realize at first it was on there.

Haruki has already left Tokyo to participate in the Checkpoint Cup. He will get to BPR soon.
Here are the cars and chassis which Haruki takes to BPR in addition to his race cars.
Ready to lend cars I built.
After the test run, I added some adjustments and clean-up. I hope they work well for anyone.
Kamo-san's excellent work for his customer.
Haruki's Can-Am backup car built by Kamo-san.
Good Racin'.

Kamo-san's original Can-Am & Hanada F-1 chassis in the above thread are built for me to try in the Check Point cup, as well as the complete
Can-Am car shown in the last photo,
Kamo-san has built another original Can-Am chassis, almost same construction but not so much lightened as the above, may be easier to drive.
I have brought the one with me to BPR.
Now I have arrived at at the hotel in Cypress and been to BPR to say hello to Greg.
I am going to set up the F-1 chassis(Kamo built) this evening, hopefully testing it tomorrow morning at BPR.
See you all guys at BPR,
Haruki

Morio Hashimoto is a very well experienced racer/builder/painter with a long racing history. Here are Morio Hashimoto's recent beautiful paint job.
Akitani
He used to race at the USRA Div.1 Nat's in the 1990's.
His craftsmanship is so great that you would be impressed to see the slot boxes he made by himself.
He is going to help our racing program by preparing painted bodies for newbies joining Tokyo D3.
We are so glad we have such a great guy as Morio at Tokyo D3.

3.875" wheelbase. 4.750" guidelead. 39 grams as shown.
Main rails are 0.062(outer) and 0.055(inner).
Completed. Total weight is 86 grams.

Although Tokyo D3 has no plan to start Retro Pro racing for the present, it's the first legal Retro Pro car Tokyo D3 made.
