Thanks for your interest.
The tubes (lead wire insulation) are the slide stoppers for the "floating" bite bar.

Bite bars are normally supported by the sides of a body from falling off.
Those silicon tubes keep the bars very well during races and when we work on chassis.

Yesterday, I dispatched a parcel including the Kamo builds for Oscar. Our Tokyo D3 racer/builder, Kamo-san, has just sent me a picture of his new ride for Oscar, our Tokyo D3 team-mate at Buena Park Raceway.
The Can-Am chassis is an exact clone of what Kamo built for me for the recent Check Point Cup.
On the left is a main frame of F-1 chassis of Nob Hanada's D3 F-1 Kit under building for Oscar.
Kamo-san has built a complete Ready to Race car for Oscar as a token of good friendship, with a body painted by Morio Hashimoto.
BPR racers, beware of Oscar!!!
By the way, recently I translated the mission statement of SoCal D3 originally written in 2006 into Japanese for our Tokyo D3 racers.
The translation work made me appreciate the value of this statement more than when I just read it in English.
I will try my best to keep the spirit of D3 here in Tokyo.
Keep racing,
Haruki
Kamo-san had asked me to include a F-1 body painted by Morio Hashimoto.
We hope Oscar the Team Mate of Tokyo D3 will like them.
Good racing,
Haruki

At our last race on March 25, with this body Akitani TQ-ed with our new track record & Tebu won the race.
I finished 2nd to Tebu with True Scale TSR24 Ti 22 Kirby Long.
I put Ti 22R on the chassis I had raced at the last race.
I had an impression that Ti 22 R was a little easier to drive around the donuts with more down-force.
Ti 22 Kirby was faster at the straight and quicker at the corners.
It was just a short test-run on Green, so I will compare more extensively next week.
Nob Hanada brought me pre-production motor-brakets, 1 3/4 inch wide & .047inch thick.
He also prepared for me 8 pairs of .078" piano wires, the one side of shaved flat to .063" thick, good for the main-rails of chassis. He has shrink-wrapped each pair!! Thanks a lot, Hanada-san.
Ryu brought a new light-weight chassis built with a Hanada Can-Am kit. The complete car weighs 90g. You will see the car in the race report of our Can-Am race on April 8.
Good racing,
Haruki

Thank you. I have an Hanada F-1 chassis and set the WB at 4". When its done and I've tested it, I'll report back on well it works.
I'm certain it will perform just fine! Thank you again Haruki.

Kamo-san will bring me his F-1 build with a Hanada kit tomorrow.
I will post its photo here.
Today, I fixed and adjusted the F-1 I had raced at our Race #3 last month.
I also mounted painted bodies to Duran's F-1's to test at my track tomorrow.
As for Can-Am, this time I will race with OS Ti-22R.
Almost ready for Tokyo D3 Race #4 on Sunday.
Keep racing,
Haruki

I'm confident the Hanada-Duran F-1's will run superbly. Please let us know.
However, my favorite class is still Can-Am, and I'm betting your Os Ti-22R will be a real joy to drive around your track.
Not to mention FAST! Please say hello to all the racers there for me. Take care.

My Ti 22R did well at the recent race with 313 laps, second to Tebu who won the race.
Ti-22R is a very high-downforced body, stable at tight corners.
I had a impression that Ti-22 Kirby is faster on the straight and quicker at the corners of our King.
I was not able to full-test the F-1s built by Duran with the Hanada F-1 kits because the straight of our King was bumpy and many cars crashed in the bank. We checked and adjusted the straight last Thursday so I will test them at our next meeting in May.
This weekend, our raceway was closed but Kamo went there to cut a special Can-Am nose-piece with the Sculpture Machine. He told me that it was so easy to precision-cut brass sheets to make a nose-piece and to cut slits for the main-rail wires. He is now building a Can-Am chassis, using this nose-piece & Nob Hanada's very wide(1 3/8") motor-bracket. The front axle will be carried by ball bearings set in 7/36" brass tube. The chassis will be run by me at the coming Retro Palooza 3 at Port Jefferson in June. I will put PS4002B-B on the chassis. We hope we will be able to develop the chassis during May.
We are also prepare a Can-Am car with a similar Kamo-Speed chassis to what I have been racing since the Check Point Cup but 10g heavier to meet the minimum weight of 100g in IRRA regulation.
I hope I will build a couple of chassis for Tokyo D3 racing & coming Retro Palooza by myself.
Stay tuned & keep racing,
Haruki

With the cars your bringing and your skills, I'm confident you'll do very well at the Retro Palooza.
I'll see you at the Western States at BPR. Take care.

I hope I will be able to start building a couple of cars by myself the coming weekend.
Oscar, you have got very competitive retro machines. You can beat the fast guys at BPR.
When Kamo-san finishes building 2 Can-Am chassis for Retro Palooza, I will post them here.
Keep racing,
Haruki
