The Red 135' "hillclimb" - It was an econo model, paneling w/ Yellow drivers panel and top trim
The Yellow Emperor 220' - This one was RED

I have never seen a Red Formica Hillclimb............ I have seen one original one that was done in Black Formica from the factory and the other 5 or 6 Hill climbs I have seen were all "Econo" models with the yellow top trim like you mentioned.

Never seen a Emperor and Buzzy's is Yellow :)

Never seen Red's, Orange's, Green's, Purple's or Black's in Econo versions. All I have seen were "Delux" versions.

Have seen a King in the Econo version and that was at Hank's in Beliot, Wi. The only "econo" King I ever saw.

Every econo version I ever seen had the "yellow" trim on them.

Where did you see the Emperor Bob???

Eono - Delux - Super Delux , all I care about is finding enough Original Chrome Legs and scoreboard (laptimer-counter) to build a COOL Little track in my Apt. :)

I don’t mess around with unnecessary stuff, so I don’t need much money. I believe it’s meant to be that way. There’s a ‘struggle’ you have to go through, and if you make a lot of money it doesn’t make the ‘struggle’ go away. It just makes it more complicated. If you keep poor, the struggle is simple.“

initially when they reloacted to the split level place, the big Mile track was in the lower level. The Blue King, a lazy 8 that I'm pretty sure was purple, the yellow hillclimb and an HO gtrackwere upstairs. Most inventory was on the ground floor. This was about 1970. by 1972 they added full line Hobbyand some sports goods and the track downstairs dissappeared. The upstairs tracks were there when I left the area in 1974.

Still hoping someone has photos.

In the late 70's there was an original HillClimb in Delaware OH that was red Formica. Fun track! And somewhere I have a picture of a econo model Orange that someone sent me. He owned a raceway in southeastern(?) OH and wanted to show me his "fully landscaped infield". It sure looked strange when compared to our Formica sided Orange.

The original Modelville Purple Mile, when it was located in Framingham, MA, was the Econo version. I don't recall whether it had "yellow" trim or not. It was the 1969-75 timeframe when I ran on it. Their orange might have been an Econo version too, as were several oranges I ran on in Maine in 1967-68. :)

Gents,

Whilst cleaning out my computer room this afternoon, I came across 9 copies of the English 'Model Cars' magazine (including the April 1964 first edition).

In the October 1965 edition on page 455 there is a photograph of the "so called Monte Carlo circuit", which too my old eyes, looks very much like a King track.

Was the Monte Carlo the precursor of the King?

Ron; we had an econo Orange in Pensacola FL during 87/88... It had originally been above either a skating rink or bowling alley in the '60s. Threre was also a yellow but it had water extensive damage... The orange went into storage in early '89 & I don't know if it has ever resurfaced.

No, and it was designed and built after the AMCR "Blue" King track was marketed and sold to dozens of raceways.

The layout in #157 is very similar to the main track at Extremetrax at Dapto NSW Australia except all the corners are flat.
