I've made my motel reservations. They said they'd keep a light on for me. :D

I soldered the pans to your chassis today, Butch. I've got a hankerin' to try out this "floating bite bar" business.

Attendees of the Sano can take a 12 minute drive
and bow at one the shrine's of D3 style racing.
(hint:6917 is on the door)
They can also get an Italian beef or a Chicago style
hot dog from the Portillo's that's on the way.

Mike:

I know you don't yet know the exact time schedule for the the various races but I'd like to make one suggestion for us "out-of-towners". Please try to start the races on Sunday as early as possible. I'm sure there are quite a few, like Greg and I, that have got to make a flight or get on the road at a reasonable time Sunday to make it back to our jobs on Monday. Thanks!

All I know while dicing is entertaining on the King, on this track, even while race directing, my heart starts to beat
faster watching 2-3 cars running together for four or five laps.
(Or maybe it was the six straight days of Fettucini Alfredo for dinner. )

Mike asked me to post: An addition to "Two", Quote Mr. Swiss

I've had the track done for a few weeks but I wanted to spiff things up a bit around the raceway before I posted more pictures. I'll get to a bunch more but in the meantime, for you old timers, here is "Car Model Corner", named after my favorite "reading" material when I was 14 (that mags that didn't have bunny ears on them ).

Special thanks to Jackie S. for doing the "clean up", reduction, and printingon this project for me.

Detective Hershman must be busy pulling those Lola T160 bods. I thought for sure he would identify
the scratchbuilders "shrine" in post#55 with the 6917 hint.

I wouldn't take any visitors there (the Strombecker plant) unless they were wearing Kevlar.
The place in the picture is still in business (been there for years) but the only indication
of its name was on the dumpster. (Big hint - scratchbuilder's shrine.)

One last hint for Ron. This company dominated its segment in slot car racing in the '60s and still does today.

That's not a fair clue, as I don't believe Hershman was even alive in the '60s. :D

I'm sure he has regularly used products from this company since he started racing (whenever that was) and still does.
PS: It's not Kester (solder), they're also in the Chicago area (around the corner from Koford's last Chicago location).

Getting warmer (no, not Ungar  either)
Tony,
Unless the East Coast had an alternative to this company, I'm pretty sure you spent quite a bit of time going through their racks in the '60s.

LOL... The pain was having to work at the slot track and be the person who had to sort it all out on Sundays while watching the counter.

Any truth to the rumor that K&S will be presenting a lifetime achievement award to Mike Steube for single-handedly doubling their sales over the last year? :P
