Here are scans of three more of my Drag Cartoons magazines complete with the "Big Daddy" Roth T-shirt ads they contained:
The #16 was the first I bought as a kid. I was so captivated I immediately started sending away for the back issues!

Yep, ol' Pete had a major grudge against the NHRA (can't remember why). He'd always talk up the UDRA.
AND he was the builder of the magnificent Chicken Coupe AA/CC.
Here are some pictures of Pete Millar's Chicken Coupe:

...it has been a long time since I spoke with Pete (He passed away back in '01 or so).
I talked to Pete Miller about a year before he passed hoping to get him to illustrate and contribute a page of cartoons to Model Cars Magazine.

Did you know you can get ALL of the issues of DRAG CARTOONS for less than the price of one vintage print edition on ePay?
Lookie here: Drag Cartoons on CD
Back in 2000 or so I was running ads in the Comics' Buyer's Guide looking for back issues of Drag Cartoons. Pete Millar was I guess at the time gathering up all his comic strips to put on the CD. So he gave me a call. He wanted to know whether I had doubles of certain issues because he was interested in buying them. I had some of those issues and we ended up speaking two or three times. Fortunately, I kept the written correspondence I received from Pete:

Anybody remember what the original engine was in the Chicken Coupe?
Never mind. Took another shot with Google and found an entry stating that is was a "small block Ford" running in D/Modified Fuel Coupe.
Next question: was that a UDRA class or a SoCal one?
