Maybe... my wife recently switched us to all plastic coat hangers.
I haven't been to the 'DryCleaner' (or bought DryGas) in years.

.
This was the 3rd and most likely last of it's kind made. Hopefully the other owners will post shots of theirs, built with aluminum end plates.
She dismounted and .... there it is.

Thanks Bob my brother set up a 37 ft straight with our monogram track in the shop it's like an old outlaw track no side rails with a few bumps along the way with a metre drop off each side & he keeps pushing me to race him on it so i've done a little testing on it no times but that dodge seemed to move quick & the T bird is running smooth.

It started out as a chassis to put inside a monogram long john dragster that I picked up on Ebay but slotting out holes here & there to fit the chassis in I cracked & wrecked the body (atleast it only cost me $5) so I thought I would try the fiat body from my amt dragster kit with a strecthed out look it didn't come out to bad so I finished the chassis to suit the fiat. The motor I have used was popular in the real early drags it's bigger brother was the star of the early slot car drags it doesn't have a lot of balls but we ain't running on 20 to 36 v anymore & a 12v motor is'nt going to break any records.
I'm running 1 32 k&b dragster fronts w some old 1 3/8 tires on the back I have a 40 t wilson crown gear w an 8 t weldun? pinion chassis is 2.4 brass rod w pin tube bracing the car turned out a little heavier thanI hoped at about 140 total.
I will post more pics when I get it finished.

It's a Lindsay!
http://slotblog.net/...83-bob-lindsay/
Great project Tom, and very interested to see how this one runs... the Lindsay was the hot motor in the early days, when it was probably run stock, but it was quickly used in modified form, if I understand correctly, to set records. In fact once the hotter Pittman DC85X and the Rams came along, the Lindsay was probably obsolete, except for guys with a machine shop...
Anyway, looking forward to this one.

Rather partial to a Fiat. You might be surprised as to performance Tom, with the big blocks and lower voltage less grunt off the line could well add up to perfect traction and no popping out of the slot.

Holy cow !
Yo no se', it's a real Lindsay. Oh, oh, oh
Love it Tom, can't wait to 'drive it for you
The Lindsay is not on the motor list because they are so rare I didn't expect anyone to have one in 'stock'.
Looks good !!!
I'll post it over on DC-Punk and 'say' when your ready for the 'inspection line'.
A Fiat with a Lindsay, bet it's the only one here on race day.

If you're joining....
Registration closes Oct. 25, 2017
... and I still have two more cars to build from the ground up.
Only three to tune up. Kemtron in-line rail, dual motor Hurst and the infamous 'on the bumper' Ghost Valiant might return too.

Discussion on inspection of can tabs on spec motors in the R&R Stock 36D class
