I still don't know how you tech all those cars and still have anytime to practice let alone race on race day. My hat is off to you sir. It's a dirty job that you are the only one to step up and do it. My hats off to you and I am sure all of retro east salutes you too!
Well said Tony,
I went to give it a green up arrow and some how I hit the wrong one.

I'd like to know how many guys ran ten tooth pinions. I was using one in practice and was fast probably the fastest I've ever been. Then about and hour before tech I was told by jj and Bruce that no one was using them and to switch to a 9 tooth. I did switch and killed all speed I had and I qualified to the e main with a 4.25. I'm very disappointed in both of you. Two guys I thought were friends lied straight to my face. Thanks
Blair you mentioned nothing about Matt Bruce. and outright accused me and Bruce B. of lying...What we gave you was advice, it was you're decision to follow or ignore it. You also happen to be talking about a guy ( ME ) that does what ever I can to help anyone. Youre a funny little man you are..

Kevin,
Though I appreciate the sentiment, you really shouldn't take it take way. Yeah, it would have been great if someone had been present to post to both and if the Ustream feed had been working. Posting to FB is just easier, especially from a cellphone.
Slotblog will have a typically fabulous Noose race report when he gets time to do it and it'll be here for everyone to read and reference for a long time to come.

Never forget that first place goes to the racer with the MOST laps, not the racer with the FASTEST lap

Blair, the point is, with any advice, you try it and see if it works for YOU. If not, you go back to what you were running. But to come onto a public forum and call people liars, you're pretty much cutting off your nose to spite your face. If you've got an issue with someone, say it to their face, not here.
My bet is if you ran a 10/27, your motor would have gone up in smoke halfway through the race. But, whatever.....

Matt will make his own comments to Blair based on a text I saw from him this morning since I was fast asleep when he sent it last night.

I'll base my comments on my own experience.
From the gitgo, my buddy Prof. Fate counseled me to make a car I could drive for eight heats, not just one I could turn a fast lap with. If I'm falling off five-seven times in a heat with more car than I can handle, I'm losing four laps at best and risking damage at worst. Same time, I'm working myself too hard, concentrating beyond my personal strength and wearing myself thin - opening me for even more mistakes as the race progresses.
On more than one occasion, guys like Katz and Penske have watched me practice with a car and tell me it's too hot - that I should gear it shorter so I can get it through more than the straight & the chute. Whether I drove with what I had or took their advice, they were right every time.
So there's another way of looking at it: like Noose said earlier, maybe Matt could set up a tall gear so it won't kill the motor AND Matt can drive the resultant horny bitchkitty, I know I can't. Setting up a car to turn a terrific hare lap might get me into a higher main, but I also might die there in conditions I'm not ready for, and worse, risk taking another guy out through my ineptitude.
When I've got the car that I can drive on the track of that day, there'll be no question. If I gotta ask, the answer's prolly gonna be no.
