And yes the motor would not have lasted. I had around 500 laps on it before the race with the ten and I switched to the nine and the motor only lasted about a heat.

Blair... Matt ran a 10 tooth on super narrow tires, a light car, a lola body. That car was super free, and the motor had a TON of magnet. He was able to run a 10 tooth confidently because he worked his way up to it. Going out on the track and racing a 10 without testing a 9 on all of your motors would have been foolish. Take advice, and apply it. That's what i've been doing since i started slot cars... It works.

Thanks buddy. My car wasnt super light but it was pretty loose. And I did some testing but on a totally different track. I did true and narrow about 10 sets of tires for my cars. I trued alpha medium wonders and jk 8783 wonders. I ended up using the jk tires. I really screwed up the gearing. Should of went with 10/28 or 27.

I really enjoyed this weekend of great racing at Retro Palooza 5.
The Hill-climb was very difficult for me but I loved the track especially when I raced F-1 there. Thanks a lot, Timmy to tune-up my F-1 to make it faster. This was my second opportunity to race at Port Jeff for Retro Palooza. Retro East racers were very friendly & helpfull & I met many nice racing buddies from the other areas. Thanks a lot, Bruce of Team Bullet to water-break-in my Retro Hawk for GTC. Gary Jr., you taught me very well how to clean RH motors. Noose, I really admire your great effort to keep Retro East going as one of the best & most competitive regions of retro racing.

Thanks a lot, Port Jefferson Raceway crews. You are always nice to me.

Chubby, Congrats on your great run at Can-Am. Kamo-san will be very happy to find you raced his Kamo-Square Can-Am chassis.

At this great race, I leaned a lot and much more effort is needed to compete with Retro East jets.

Although I am getting old to overcome long-distance trip & jet lag, I will come back to race with you.

I am now JFK airport to catch my flight back to Tokyo leaving in 2 hours from now.

Good Racing,

Haruki :victory:
