Thanks for everyone's patience, support, and the excitement for this new magazine.

With any new endeavor, there will be hiccups along the way.

 

One big hiccup (burp), was the fact that I messed up. Yes, I'm human, and these things happen.

 

I took for granted the mailing for the new mag would be seamless, and that it would be mailed without any glitches on the heels of Model Cars Magazine

but, there was no U in this ASSUME.

 

It's all me

 

I didn't file the appropriate papers with the post office, and as such, we are in the outhouse with them as far as getting the application to mail at the periodical rate.

 

So, we have to mail at the higher rate, in batches, until the application is approved.

 

For dealers, they are being mailed out in batches also.

 

I have in my hands my first five copies of the magazine

I love the smell of the printed copy of a new issue.

If you have ever worked in a print shop, you know what I mean.

The smell brings back memories of when Kelly and I first started with Plastic Fanatic.

I bought that back in 1995, and we printed and mailed, from our small little studio apartment, the first three or four issues.

 

Now, with Slot Cars, those memories are returning.

I have learned a lot over the past 20 years (geez, 20 years!!!), and have made my fair share of misteaks.

I'm still making misteaks (as you can see by my spelling...), on/in the admin things needed to start a new magazine.

 

Thanks for your patience, and I hope to have all the bugs worked out soon.

I really would like to buy 50 examples for me and some of the Retro - Community in Europe. There is no hurry at all, - just let me know when time has come how much to pay to whom. Jairus knows my address or send me a slotblog - pm!

I will try and get a shipping quote for the USPS Flat Rate medium box.

That would probably be the best option, weight/cost/time wise.

What country?

 

Not knowing the country, I am guessing/estimating this for Germany (heh, I was born there, don't blame me...)

 

For 30 mags, in the Medium Flat Rate International USPS box, shipping would be about $60. They have a limit of 20 pounds, so that has to be checked as well.
So that would be about $2 a mag to ship.

With a cover price of $6.50, that would be $195, plus the shipping, so estimate $255.

This is the full retail price.

If you have a shop, or a dealer, we have dealer discounts, but with the overseas nature of it, I'm not sure if this is how the office would set it up.

 

Also, I'm not sure if we can get 30 copies in the Medium Flat rate box.

I'm getting a big box sent to me this week, so I will see how much will fit, once I get them in.

 

I hope this helps.

I still think that the PCH way to order would be the best. You get to kill two birds with one stone, so to speak.

We will try and get this set up with more dealers soon.

I bought this first issue at the hobby shop near me today, they just got them in.

Nice looking magazine. I like to see articles on scratchbuilt 1/32 and 1/24 scale cars, and the parts for them.

We will be doing more of the scratch building articles for sure.

I shot a whole piece with Hawai'i's Mark Guerrero on doing hard body drag chassis, and I will creatively borrow a chassis I got from a model car friend, to make a 1/32 scale non-magnet styrene chassis.

Plenty more ideas out there, like Jairus said, we need the input, articles, and photos from everyone else to make this mag work.

That's great. I order a copy off you and some body clips on the 25/2/15. When can I expect to see them. I also added a note to make sure that they were the right clips to suit my chassis
