But back in 2008, when my wife and I drove Rt.66, back from So-Cal, as cheap as it had just gotten, it was super-cheap in Texas and OK.
IIRC, $1.78 at one truck stop in one of those states.

Yes, Ken is one & the same. He's been building chassis since the early 70's. In the mid-80s he built the winning USRA Nats I-15 chassis. I forgot to post he was on here.
Tex, thanks for adding that info. I don't recall the story why or when he got the nickname. Do you?

Enjoy the low gas prices while you can. I figure despite the huge amount of oil being pumped out of the ground, here in the USA, the political BS regarding the mid-term elections and the possibility using low oil prices to punish certain countries (Iran, Venezuela, Russia being the main focus), dependent on $100+/barrel oil this low gas price is very temporary. (I won't go any more political than this).
Now getting back to the topic:
Greg, have you found other drivers on the road to be encouraging or annoyed over the "slowness" of the Ford?

The "Georgia or Bust" gang made it to Broken Arrow, OK today at about 3:30pm local time. Destination - the former Auburn - Cord - Duesenberg plant located here.
Here comes our fearless leader in his now famous Model A
Greg and Geoff pose for pictures prior to the arrival of a massive throng of paparazzi.
I'll let Cheater fill you in on the rest. It was great to finally meet Greg and his son.

From his use of Tiger Milk back in the day.
We all used Tiger Milk back in the day. The dark stuff worked great for lubricating motor bearings. I still got half a bottle of that.
I intend to live forever! So far, so good.

A cheap anti-fog for the inside of the windshield: shaving cream. CREAM... like Barbasol. IIRC, a travel size is $.49 or .59 at Target/Walmart. Regular size is still less than a buck.
Smear some on the inside of the windshield with a paper towel. Wipe off with a dry "borrowed" hotel hand towel. Works like a dream on snowmobile/ATV helmet visors in the winter.
Experiment on your hotel mirror before you shower.
Rain-X also makes an anti-fog glass cleaner. It is a yellow liquid in a clear bottle. Works about the same as shaving cream, but it's $4.99.

Greg,
After reading your trip comments about driving through Kansas, I see what's wrong. There's no TUNES!!! How can you go on the trip of a lifetime without MUSIC?!? You need to get some AC/DC crankin' in that A, or maybe some Who, and see how many more miles you can do in a day!!!
I am not a doctor, but I played one as a child with the girl next door.

Yes, we actually did a couple of loads of laundry at the truck stop in Newton. LOL!

Maybe when I get it home, Mike. Right now I am listening for every rattle and creak to try to detect any problems that are developing.
It's like carrying tools... if you have them, you won't need them.
The potential problems know I am listening for them and therefore stay on their best behavior. If I was drowning out the rattles and creaks with music, those sneaky problems would reach up and bite me!

And the problems have reached up to bite me today already... the Model A has a flat tire this morning. Fortunately we have an aired-up spare and two new tubes in the spares kit.
Now to find someone in Tulsa who knows how to replace a tube in a 19-inch tire...

The cause of the flat was the valve stem; it had a slow leak where the metal part of the stem inserted into the rubber part.
Now on toward Little Rock, AR, though with this late a start we'll probably pull up short of that city for the night.
