Ha!
Got your attention with that one huh?

IMG_2494x-vi.jpg

Ever since the Dynamic Challenge race I have been collecting the perfect parts for an all Dynamic Ferrari 330 P4.
What I'm looking for are a set of "Sloppy Sam" body mounts. They seem to be pretty rare on eBay. Anyone have a set that I can purchase or trade for?

As a side note, since the 2011 Proxy spiked the price of Dynamic parts on eBay... they have not reduced. At all!
And in most cases, the same parts have disappeared completely.

Did we use up the remaining bits that were available?  Or is someone just holding out?

Inquiring minds want to know.

Jairus, just got rid of a load of pans here. They went to Australia. I can tell you that at least 70% of my items go overseas.

4 DYNAMIC CHASSIS w/ FLOPPY BRASS PANS & OTHER ASSORTED GOODIES

I will look to see if any more are hiding in the pile. I will advise if I find some. I have hinges if you need them which is how Dynamic wanted you to attach the pans.

It has been my feeling for a while that yes, certain parts are drying up. I kind of have a first hand take on it as I sell many parts.

I had the same reasoning as well, hoarding or 50 years have passed. I'm leaning towards the 50 year thing.

Edit - I bought a couple about  2 years ago ( Feb. 2013).  I think the seller  was a small hobby shop owner closing out the store.   Had to pay $25-32 for them. Built out the cars and sold them.

They are rare new in package. The used ones come up far more often, usually attached to a chassis.

Pablo put a used one in his tumbler for about 3 hours in the car he used for the 2011 Dynamic Challenge which turned out quite nice.

Joe, I am indeed looking for the hinge as well.

Sorry to say that I took one apart and used the forward half of it to mount some pans for a project years ago! Now I find I am looking for another. :dash2:

You did get my attention with that title :D

Having not been around for the challenge I often look at the cars from it ! With the eventual idea of making a challenge car.

got some Dynamic frames/parts and can attest to raising prices and also the rarity of some particular items.

The whole time looking for parts in general have only turned up like 2 sets of sloppy Sam pans on epay that I never won :laugh2:

Hope you get the parts Jairus :good:

Jairus, the hinge is yours. I will continue the pan quest.

If there is someone out there hoarding Dynamic parts I sure would like to find the son of a gun  ^_^

Holy Cow!

Nothing special... just the hinge please.
But... that cool spring loaded drop arm with hinge in the bottom right section of the hinged box would be more cool as I can use it for two different projects..... :whistle3:

Gladly pay you....

Hm, I've not seen that particular bit before - have something similar that's semi-scratched together though.

Joe, can you clarify a little ?

Nice selection of parts there also sir !

Jairus, that looks like the Lancer P4 - is it one of Victors or an original ? Looking forward to you building it up !

Simon, here is what is in that last section.

DSC06137.JPG

Left to right, number 1, 3 and 4 are original Dynamic items. These are seldom seen. They are from the early days of Dynamic when they had the yellow header card. The weight up front is attached with springs. The weight is heavy and is to much weight for the springs in my opinion. You can see this evidenced on number 3. Not many of these survive because of the design.

Hope that explains it.

The Body is a Ferrari P4 from True Scale, but I am pretty sure Victor said it was originally a Dynamic mold.  The Dynamic P4's in vintage ads look just like this one down to the wiper arm.
But, doesn't matter now, because.... It's all I got.

Edit, looking at the web site (Is he back up?) seems he gave me the wrong body.

Okay, ordered a new body.  THIS one is labeled Dynamic and looks nearly the same as the "Lancer" one.

But the bigger news is that Victor's web site is back up and accepted my order.

Ah, I should've kept quiet as really wanted to see you build that one up - the most beautiful scale slot car body ever made imho.

Hi Jairus,

Cool Project! :good:

Here is a comparison of the 2 different versions Dynamic made of the 330 P4, both with the same part number:

1967Ferrari330P4013.jpg

1967Ferrari330P4010.jpg

1967Ferrari330P4011.jpg

1967Ferrari330P4012.jpg

This is the early "long nose" version used in the Dynamic car ad's I've seen so far:

1967Ferrari330P4009.jpg

This is the later "short nose" version Victor is currently showing on his web site:

1967Ferrari330P4008.jpg

I've found the "korrect" early "long nose" versions tough to find :dash2:

The Lancer version is a real beauty and it's pretty scale. It's almost twice as tall as the "Low and Wide" Dynamic!

No worries dudes.
The Lancer will get a scratch built chassis and probably retro raced to death now that I discovered the truth.
Thanks for the info Rick.  That helps a lot! :victory:

You're welcome Jairus. I've used Victor's "short nose" body in place of the mostly unobtainable "long nose" version in tribute cars. It was either that or don't build the car. :o

I believe one of the "Holy Grail" bodies of all time is the Lancer Ferrari P4.    Victor made a small batch and I don't think they are on his website for sale????

If you have one you might want to consider a special use for it. :unknw:

Here's a Dynamic for our fellow bloggers. There may be other versions too:

Explains why my searches never pulled something up.

Now why would the seller think these go with a Monogram chassis?
Thanks Bob.

Ya know Jairus, there's always chopping the bottom 1/8th off the Lancer body...

I've got a period car set up like this, actually on a dynamic inline with slightly messed about pans, but think there's a magazine article that shows this body being chopped and used on some kind of late inline brass build also - anyone have a link to that ?

I wouldn't dare do it with an original but if Victor is going to make more available maybe ?

Joe - thanks for the info on the Dynamic bits as I've never seen those before !

Wow.  Somebody really wants that chassis you linked to Bob.
One hour to go and it's already over what I was willing to bid.  But.... guess I could use all the bits there.
Watching with interest.

You've got some goodies there that the "boys"  will want:

A complete new Monogram chassis WITH a hard to find new guide flag

THOSE PANS.......I've never seen a new pair of the floppy version of those Dynamic pans....in my limited experience. I make my own from the fixed pan version.

Time to dig deep or move on............... :unknw:
