I logged into YouTube yesterday and watched a couple of videos from the first R4. Seeing Dave and Ray brought back many good memories.

I read recently that an anonymous person wrote this in chalk on a pit board and left it in the late Dave MacDonald's pit the day after the 1964 Indy 500.
To Davie:
I know a speedway
in the sky
Where brave young drivers
thunder by
And all who live this racing game
must know that fate
may call their name.
Dave Fiedler loved Indy Car racing and I went with him several times to IndyCar events at the Speedway and Milwaukee.
Dave's mom Margaret called him Davie.
So I felt this was appropriate to post here.

Dave really loved Road America. He always bought a season pass. Took him for some hot laps in the Mustang once. Even though it was nothing like the Can-Am car I was running, he still was pretty excited. He even video'd it. Now I wish I had a copy of that.
