I bet just being dewound it's a nice runner!

Ciao John

actually that 26D is a bit "soft" for my taste: high RPM but little torque, nothing close to a good standard 26D's ooomph, I'm afraid.

I should call that guy...what's his name...Hvlek...Haviek ...something like that... and ask for a bit of his magic

HAVLICEK!
Sounds like weak magnets to me. Just send the motor to John and he can true the com, tie and balance the arm and zap the magnets. The whole package will really wake up that 40 year old motor!

Hi

Ya, gotta be the magnets, that motor, that gear ratio ought to be more than torquey enough.

I think it needs arcos and a silver 28!

...thanks Jairus Posted Image , even I have a hard time spelling that darned thing Posted Image You may be right about the magnets, but I don't think those Mabuchi mags can be zapped. I like Rocky's idea better, a nice set of Arcos is always a waker-upper for those old Mabuchis Posted Image

Hi

You could always carve a set of cobalts!

Actually, true story, I once built an illegal motor that drilled the center of the ceramic out and replaced it with A small block of cobalt for a "womp" stock motor. Let me pull a 2.1gear ratio on a king.

That little trick lets you maintain the period look.

John,

I think Edo's mispelling your name was a "tongue-in-cheek" kind of thing; I'm CERTAIN he knew EXACTLY how to spell your name. It was a good-natured nod to your expertise.

Indeed it was a very friendly joke, I'm surprised it did not come through! Must be my iffy english :)

As for mispelling Miss Cristina's name: could one of the in house rocket scientists please correct it? She's watching, you know!

Thanks!

Well, consider that you're talking to a Texan who, by many accounts(and rightfully so), IS that dim. :laugh2:
