First I heard of it. Maybe I have to log onto Spacebook more often?

Wonder how this compares to other flexi chassis?

It better be thicker then .035".

I see a lot of weak points.

I'll reserve judgement until I can try one. I have an old Titan that still handles like a bat straight out of hades. With the similarities to another flexi chassis that we all know and love, this one could prove interesting, too.

Rob,

I heard about 3/4 of the first run went to Europe.

I should have a small quantity in on Tuesday I'll put aside for the local ISRA racers.

You want one?

His Facebook page says it is .050" steel.

The specs say 1mm, which is .047" and close enough to .050" to call it. I think Ernie "announced" it in August.

And it is spring steel from the posts. The picture shown is just one of the variations being offered.

Looks like the Patriot is stainless. I know he had an early post that stated .050" spring steel.

I think the confusion might be that the little motor braces are .050" spring steel.

Mike is right. If you go to the Facebook link it states the included motor brace is .050" spring steel.

You can see the influences from "other" chassis designs. I welcome the thicker steel though. As side by side racing often results in a completely different chassis than what you started the race with. It may even prove to be sturdy enough for rental duties. Time will tell.

I'm sure if it proves faster, there will be a new JK right around the corner.

No longer Jerry, but I'm sure Tim still has access to the Czech Eurosport All-Stars to design a new frame.

IIRC, they were going to counter right away, but decided to wait to see how the Mossetti performs.

That must be tough.

Commit to expensive tooling on a design you really can't fully pre-test.

You could do a spring steel copy/prototype of sorts, but it just won't be quite the same as a stamped and bent up one made from a different material.

Mike,

I thought Jerry was staying on as a consultant.

Some info.

I got my invoice and the MR1002 (2 pc./steel pan) retails for $26.50.

The MR1006 (w/aluminum pan) retails for $28.00.

For the paltry 4 pcs. I got, (2 of each), I almost wish he just sent them all to Europe, and save the US raceways the aggravation of trying to figure out how to divvy up way too little of an initial quantity.

I think we all should see how it works before everyone gets all excited like everyone did when Kelly was bringing out a new stamped chassis. Remember that deal.

Just to inform...

Kelly was a 50% partner in that particular chassis. Pro Slot was the other 50% so share the guilt please. Besides Pro Slot, China was responsible for the metal used. Terry did design it. Final product was not like the sample (prototype). Kelly tried to correct with treating, and powder coating, Pro Slot didn't... so Kelly purchased Pro Slot's 50% to no avail... think of that money lost for the hobby; he definetly didn't do this for the money.

Actually Kelly had a press built and has chassis plates with good American metal made here in storage now. That's on hold. Now family health problems...
