It's really nice to see how this new chassis is being accepted.

For ISRA racing only the stock setup like they came from factory. Can be soldered but I don't think thru a hole in the brass.

Steve,
I'm thinking he means making holes in the brass tube and thru soldering to the pin.

That's amazing that the ISRA would come up with this decision. When they were using the X25, which has a straight piece of piano wire for a bite bar, they allowed a modified bite bar with an open rectangle at one end. So now SS pin tubing is illegal in place of the brass. Why not just a piece of piano wire like they used on the X25.

Do you run ISRA races?

The ISRA website I found had not been updated to include the Mossetti.
It does list this as an allowed modification to the JK X-25:
j) Thickness of JK X 25 chassis bite-bar must be from 1.1 to 1.4 mm and may be shaped as
per the diagram bellow
(Sorry..no pic)
I'm asking the same question as Fred. If total replacement and modification of the original bite bar on the JK X-25 is allowed, why not the same consideration to the Mossetti? This is an obvious double standard.
I do not presently race in any ISRA races. But that could change at any time. It should not affect my participation in this thread. This is an open forum.

This is the ISRA website. http://isra-slot.com/ It may not meet everyone's approval but the rules are there. I'm just trying to answer questions with the latest publicly posted information.
There is an issue with the Mossetti cross bar that was brought up after the first race at Chicagoland when a few of us had issues. Some good solutions have been posted. Few people run ISRA Worlds so it don't affect them.
" I do not presently race in any ISRA races. But that could change at any time." I'll bet $5 the same could be said for what bathroom you identify with today...
"It should not affect my participation in this thread. This is an open forum." I agree, it's an open forum and you are welcome to participate like everyone else that has something constructive to say.
It's great to see how often you "participate" in a positive way. In fact, your opinion is discussed at raceways more than you know and always involves a lot of laughing.

Rob, yes I have raced in ISRA/USA races and no I don't believe in a double standard and yes I will abide with what ever rules they set forth or just not race.
Frankie, sorry I'm not very good at posting pictures but if you buy a pack of the small Du Bro T-pins and just bend the T end at about a 25 degree angle it allows the pan up and down motion to be limited and the "so called" bite bar to ride on the pans and not on the chassis center section. I cut the brass tubing just long enough to clear the pan openings at both ends and push the T-pin as far into the tubing as it will go, you'll have to cut the long end of the pin to allow both pins to fit. You could even super glue one pin and leave the other removable. Keep in mind that you have to slightly bend each pin, just like pins for body pins, and force them into the tubing.

Steve, what downward pressure? I've adjusted the T part of the pin to ride on the pan just like the head of the straight pin. It's possible to create normal or zero up and down movement depending on the angle of the T. Mainly what the T provides is a larger surface area to wear then just the head of the straight pin. Just installing the T pins straight without bending them allows virtually the same movement as with the straight pins. It's just a tuning device, use it or not. It should, by no means, be illegal just because it came with straight pins and a brass tube. That funky weak bite bar that comes with virtually all of the JK chassis gets replaced with piano wire, right? Why not T pins and SS tubing so it won't wear out in one race?

I've had one for quite awhile now. Given the popularity of the RH and the PSFK in my area, my R&D has been with those motors and I have to say that my 3-pc Mossetti is at least the equal of any other car I have so powered. Sadly, I haven't been to an event where it was legal or I would have used it.

Good to hear Pete, thanks for the feedback. How did you secure you bite bar? With the standard pins as designed or something different?
