Not without limiting movement. As stated earlier, bar sits flat on center section.

Might not be that way much longer.

KVP,
I think Jim H is just alluding to that it will be easy to change, with it being lasered.
A fairly prominent flat track racer was by the raceway yesterday and he commented about the chassis.
He said the cross member, tying the pans together, being in the back, along with the bite bar set-up, will always be a negative.
IE- the X25 will always be more tunable.
His name, may or may not, rhyme with Truck Rambo. LOL

Has that racer retired?
Assuming we are talking about the same guy, he said he may or may not be retired.

KVP,
Actually, he said he would be back, Feb. 6, with all guns blazing.

We were going to put smuck mambo's picture on a milk carton.
When I was at Chicagoland and had that trouble I quickly bent an L out of wire & ran wire insulation on the outside of the center section and it was ok but not my first choice.

Makes sense, Steve. How about a small z-bend between the posts with small extensions? Might save a little weight.
I don't follow Ron, can you draw it?

Can somebody tell me how wide a JK F1 Chassis is?
Ernie Mossetti

Not sure if there is any ISRA rule, but I measured 2 3/8" or 60.5mm on several of mine....JRL and stamped. Not sure if the NEW INDY wide bodies are a new/legal direction, but those are standard width frames with GT style.
IS changing the supplied pin a production legal option? A single pin with no bends and silicone insulation over the ends should work with the body retaining it - or the ends taped down.

Ernie, If you are talking about the new JK Ready to Run Indy Car chassis, it is 3.10" wide.

Now that these Mossetti chassis have been around for a while and probably on slot car tracks anyone have any feedback yet? Good and/or bad.

I have tried the DuBro small T-pins in place of the straight pins and Mike is right they should last longer especially if you can find the correct size of SS pin tubing. You can also bent the T down to limit the up and down movement of the chassis or try bending each ear of the T to limit the up and down movement with less friction, That could be a valuable tuning tool.

That's interesting Fred. Would you be willing to share a picture? I'm in the process of putting one together myself.

I had raced the two piece chassis with aluminum pans in the GTP class at the My Series Pinellas Park GTP race. The car was a rocket; should have won the race except for a rider which knocked the braid and clips out of the guide flag. Lost 1 minute getting it repaired. I will be running the same chassis this coming Saturday in the My Series 4" NASCAR car class at Melbourne. I did the same thing as Cap. I taped the pans in the forward position.

ISRA rules say
Posted 12 May 2016 - 02:58 PM
Rob,
Can a different pin be used like Fred suggested using a T-style pin? And I know yourself and others where using different configurations of the tube being bent out of wire, those are illegal?
