Gregg, I read the lifetime membership offer. I can only repeat what I've already stated, "It's hard to agree to a new deal, when the conditions of the first haven't been met"! You have yet to answer my question concerning the subscriptions that have been paid for and have yet to be honored!!! What is the solution for these people? Are you in a roundabout way saying that the only option for these people is a refund? Let me suggest to you that those that have already shown support to the mag receive credit towards a lifetime subscription equal to the amount they have already put out!!! I know, that will not put any "new" funds in the game, it would lessen the feeling of being taken for a ride, so to speak!!

I know you've put your heart & soul into this. When i first met you at Myrons and saw your reaction to all of the 1/32 action-i knew you were all in! You are one straight up guy-good luck.

Frankie, Thank You!
Rick, mahalo nui loa!
John, if it's $25 you are worried about, wow, sorry about that
I'll refund you $25, if that is what it takes
I guess this is not something you can be behind, support, or want to be a part of.
Failure to honor?
I'm still going, there is no failure
Hurdles?
Yes.
Set backs?
Yes.
Let me say this for the last time.
You want to try this, after SEVEN MAJOR BACK SURGERIES?
There are days I can't get out of bed, still
Yes, I can walk now, and that is something I didn't think I would be able to without a Quickie (some of you will get this)
I can sit up now for a bit longer every time
But I still spend the major of days in bed.
I'm doing the best I can, with what I can.

Another update.
I'm checking on the foreign subs, going through the numbers on the mailings, and I have some new friends overseas who are looking at being somewhat of a distributor for the mag, getting the medium flat rate box of mags shipped right to them, and they send out, see how that would work also.
That way, mags would show in a week or so, not month or so

Well after reading the message directed at me from Gregg, looks like I'll be reading SCM from now on!!!!! BTW, I think that I have dealt with enough people here on this forum that know that $25 isn't something that will break me! Principal of the situation???????

Mahalo, Michael!
Just found out that dumb me missed 18, yes, 18 subscribers who signed up from 10/9/15 - 12/3/15.
Yes, even Mr. Wells was a victim of my brain fart/snafu....
I will be sending the copies out as soon as I get them.
Thanks again for the support, and of course, your patience.

I am a paid subscriber, and I have seen issue#4 out for sale, but I have not received my copy in the mail. Why do subscribers get their magazines mailed well after they are for sale in stores?

I got four boxes of mags yesterday. I will be sending out all the ones I missed (see above), and also I will be updating the site.
With this issue out, now it comes down to getting the rest of the year in place.
Still looking for your input, what you want to see more, etc.
Thanks everyone, for your support, patience, and understanding.

I am a paid subscriber, and I have seen issue#4 out for sale, but I have not received my copy in the mail. Why do subscribers get their magazines mailed well after they are for sale in stores?
Glen, on this issue (pardon the pun), it's been a subject of many complaints for years, for Model Cars Mag, and now for Slot Cars.
The mags for subs and dealers are all mailed at the same time.
For the post office, to get the periodical rate, I have what is called a theory of "Power Of Six", which is a simplified way of explaining how periodicals/magazines are mailed.
If there are six or more copies sent to a specific drop zone/zip code for the post office, those get to the readers fast, usually a week, or less sometimes.
For the less than six, say a nice guy out in the boonies, with no one else around who is reading this fantastic magazine, his copy gets bundled up with other magazines, not SCM, and they get sent to another, bigger drop zone/post office. Those then get bundled with others, and shipped out. This goes on down the line, until the mag gets sorted at your local post office, and gets delivered.
How do we know this is the way it works?
When I had Plastic Fanatic, back in 1997 or so, we had to go through a mailing class for the permit for the magazine.
This is one thing we learned, and Kelly, my wife, came up with such a simple solution for mailing/bagging the mags, that should be used by all small pubs, but it's too simple for some.
We then did a test, we added five readers who we knew were in the same zip/drop zone, and then we did an issue, and they got the copies in a week.
Before, it would take three weeks for that one guy to get it.
It's slow sometimes, but this is how we get the periodical rate.
If not, the mag would cost $3 to mail, a single copy, and that would mean a cover price of over $10, and that's not nice.
Once we get the numbers up, it will get better.
Thanks!
Hope this helps, or maybe made it worser....

thanks for the (long) explanation....now I have a second headache....and no, the answer did not help...I know you are doing your best. I guess I will have to make a purchase through a retailer if I want to ever get this issue.

"Would you rather see your stuff online, or in a print magazine? Anyone can do online, ANYONE"
You forget that they can't print it on line if it isn't true. That's the law.
I agree 100% about having the magazine in hand. Nothing is as good.
Also, I sent in my money for a subscription.

As an alternative, I am trying something new.
I have put up a digital download page on the site http://www.slotcarsm...nloads/issue-4/
This is a direct PDF download, available for $5.
I hope I'm not stepping on anyone's toes with this.
Also, hopefully, the downloaded file won't be shared between people after it has been read.
Yes, there should be a way to protect the file, and have I been able to do this?
I have not been able to perfect that yet, hopefully everyone will be honest about this, and not share it.
Need to make this magazine work, and every bit helps.
Let me know what you guys think, good or bad.
Let me know if any problems with the checkout, cart, or download.
I did a test, paying for it myself, and it worked, it downloaded pretty fast, but then, it's me to myself, and you know how that is....
Thanks for the support, words of encouragement, and kicks in the okole (rear end) every once in a while.
i'm not perfect, I just look it :-)

On the mailing issue, I came up with an even simple explanation.
If there are six guys getting the mag on Kauai (It has only a few zip codes), they would all get mailed straight from Denver.
If there is one or two, those mags would get sent from Denver, to San Fran, then to Honolulu, then over to Kauai.
Simple, yes?
k den... :-)
