Ray rules require motor to be centered in chassis. lol..
I thought it was 90* to the rear axle....... That may make it then.....

Definitely not square to the world.

The middle row pair are my flat track racers, the anglewinder is still a virgin, a Warmack nose and rail with a Chicagoland motor bracket. It will see track time later this week. The inline is a JK nose with a Chicgoland motor bracket stuff, a sweet car on our flat track at Pacific raceway (as if we know what a "sweet" car is yet). And of course the Lawn Darts... another Warmack kit and a JK.
I'll do a few detail shots later.
thanks

I'm not retired yet, still doing my day job (nights) and I had to set up a shop......
I always left the production work to others such as you and Lee. I still have an adversion to getting Carbondiscosis....

Good job knocking them out. It looks like you have a nice mix of stuff to try to figure out what's going to work for you.
Every time an oldtimer gets back in, a smile comes over my face.
Speaking of which, I've heard of recent rumors of another prominent ex-wing racer jumping into Retro.

Scratchbuilt with a Warmack guide tongue? Just curious are the sides of the motor bracket .200" high? Not sure if it makes a difference in the D3 world, but it does in the IRRA.
BTW:
Nice build

Yup, had a Warmack tongue sitting here and not sure of the brand on the bracket. I still haven't found my box of spring steel bits. It's a little funky. I got my band saw blades so it much easier to scratch these out now. Next is setting up a brake.
Over .4" high. The rules don't say anything about a "hole" and its position in regards to bracket height on the sides. By whacking the top off the motor mount face, well, that may be a sticking point at a IRRA tech.

Oh, I see it now. On top of the hole has solder and kind of blended with the slot in the block. I thought the bottom of the hole was the top of the side of the bracket. Nevermind.

The rule is stated as such...
3. Chassis Construction:
3a. Each car must have a one-piece brass rear
bracket consisting of at least three sides (vertical
or horizontal), with each connected side having
a minimum width or height of at least .200".
3b. The motor bracket must support the motor
and extend to touch the rear axle tube.
3c. The axle tube does not need to travel
through the motor bracket.
3d. The motor can be screwed to the motor
bracket and/or can also be soldered in place.
So as I read it, that means that only one of the two dimensions needs to be .200 inches. And we know that each side is longer than .200" so I think Tom should be OK even for IRRA as the rule is written. As a programmer, I have to be VERY careful of how And's and Or's are used.
Now, if it said "with each connected side having a minimum width AND height of at least .200" it would be a different story.
Hey Tom, Nice chassis!

I'ts all good, I just didn't see the hole in the bracket and the top of it since it blended with block it was sitting on. No big deal, I thought material under the hole was the complete side. Tom's chassis looks nice
