I always wondered about the Zee railers. IRRA does not permit mixing of disciplines of floppy and plumber. Being that a zee rail is an action, would mixing floppies with zee rails be legal according to their past interpertation of mixing and matching movements?

Rick, I think it is OK - in another post (can't remember which one off-hand - the argument is made that the Z rail is a single or solid rail. That leaves the floppies as the only hinged up/down movement.
Mike, you are right. The Bakagra joints do get soldered after the axle tube gets cut. Hadn't thought about your method of flowing solder for the front axle supports. Will give that some thought!

Great job on the chassis.
With your woodworking skills, I knew you would fairly quickly become a terrific scratchbuilder.
It probably won't matter but it would be a bit safer to solder that inside area of the bracket/Brackagra
before cutting the rear axle tube.
PS-you are correct on your Z-rail assessment.
The type of main rails on a chassis has nothing to do with the pan movement allowed.

It's pretty close Jim---only about 10 miles or so I think! Both are in central OC-- La Habra a little more inland. Where are you now?

Chicago! I miss SoCal, and I especially miss Santa Barbara where we lived before moving back to the Midwest to assume elder care duties. One thing I remember about the La Habra kids was earning their trust and acceptance. I could never do it today, but back then I took a gaggle of them to the Green Burrito where they bet I couldn't eat a Big Ed and not get sick. I did, did not barf, they paid for the Big Ed, and things were different (in a good way) ever after. That was a hard-working bunch of kids - I very much enjoyed my time with them.

Thanks, Mike - having suffered once from droopy axle tubes, I will take your advice!

I call it, a motor with a chassis wrapped around it.
A work in progress, this is what will cover it. A 1965 Toyota 800
Here are a couple more pictures ready to race. Well almost anyway, Barney and I are still working on the body.

Very cool!
Remember, two wrongs don't make a right... but three lefts do! Only you're a block over and a block behind.

SLOP (Super Little Open Proxy) The cars have to fit in a 4.25" X 2.250" box and the bodies have to cover the tires so we are doing "Old School Flares" to cover the tiny tires. The tires on the rear of both are Ranch Design 1/43 and .697" and the fronts are on mine are .595". It has a 2.425" wb so they are short!
Ranch urethane rears, gears and Arii model kit front tires. Mine has a 050 Mabuchi mini motor and with only 15K rpm it is as fast as my last season car right now but the race motor will be a 25-30 or 38K motor.... See the YouTube of my TQ and winning car from last season on my Lost Patrol SLOP track. SLOP tracks have to be single lane and max 9 sq. ft.
And the YouTube on David's track where I TQ'ed and won...

He is now the proud owner of the latest and greatest RetroPro designs coming off my jig.
Similar to my last RP with a few subtle changes. He requested raised pin tube at the front of the pans and shakers up front on the drop arm. I also made this chassis a combo rail car with .062 outer rails and .055 inners. I'm learning that our local King track requires a little stiffer car so this should do the trick.
