The Pro Slot Fox chassis of the day was the car to beat. So, since I ran away with that race then I thought....Lets build this.
Now if you are familiar with that era of car you will see the front wings are the same shape but rotated to make this design
This is the 1989 Western States Championship winning chassis. See the front pans, look like the pans on the new car.

I remember Tebu recycled the Pro Slot's Box Stock chassis to build his Can-Am ride at the earlier stage.
I am very sure your new build will run very fast & stable.

It's just a basic .078 shaker pan, but I attached the front axle to the pans.
The shaker movement is .040 front to rear. So, that means the guide lead will change by that much too.
It weighs 59 grams unloaded.
I used the new non-hypoid motor bracket from RGEO.
The guide tongue stiffner is a new piece from RTR and I am going to try a few more new goodies from RTR to complete. More pics in a couple of days.

This F1 I demolished in the F1 500 at Tom Thumb, was also the car I made my 1st A main at the R4/5, Had to fix it for obvious reason's, just finished restoring it back to race condition. Hopefully it's even better.
Updated version has .050 pan's. old version was .040.

I got a little sloppy with the solder and it's needs to be tumbled.
By the way, I angled the motor bracket a few degrees on this one.

The original design was called the "Wanted" chassis and was quite succesful during is time just before the steelchassis tripod's entry in slotcars.
So what is a good...split pans? or standard pans? Our rules admits hinges in all directions for a retropro chassis, so should i have hinges on the pans or just the one in the front like a rattle plumber? Whats size square tubes the 1/8" or 3/32" and so on...?
Chime in folks...share your knowledge, and give som gooooood tips please?

I see the forward bite bar, can it be used without soldering it solid to the pans , as shown ?
Looks like the narrowed gear shown will not be legal at the SANO, am I correct ?
Super Sano, Ray Ray ! I love it.

Sweet.
I see the forward bite bar, can it be used without soldering it solid to the pans , as shown ? In some sort of tube with a keeper?

As far as the question about the front bite bar, I would pose it to the (whole) IRRA BOD.
One thing for sure is whatever you rigged up there, it couldn't allow the pans to "stretch" out past the 3.125" max. width.
