Thanks guys really appreciate it. Just have to get the flow of solder better and then they should look even better.
Haruki, no I won't be attending Retro Palooza. I've had some medical issues and I'm not sure if I'll be completely recovered. Are you attending the Fall Brawl? I will be going there. Thanks.
Russ
Russ,
I am going to miss you at Retro Palooza.
I plan to race Fall Brawl.
Looking forward to seeing you then.
Please take care of yourself.
Good Racing,
Haruki

Depends upon where you plan to use it. It may work dandy on a flat track.

You could always sell it to someone who IS near a flat track.

Thanks Mike. Kind of like shaker pans. In and out but very little.

Why Tex, are you near a flat track? It might work on Honeycutt's track in San Antonio...

Kinda-sorta. Within my slot racing periphery, I can access 4 club tracks which include MANY flat turns. Jim's Engleman track has the one big banked turn... the rest is flat. It's questionable whether or not your chassis would flex too much in that bank and Jim does NOT like seeing sparks coming from under cars on his track. As for me, I'm a scratchbuilder myself and race only chassis' I've built myself; my race record proves that. LOL! Actually, due to the many flat turns I tend to race on these days, the last chassis I built was VERY flexible and I intend for my next one to be just-as-if-not-more flexible. As such, my cars aren't meant to be crashed and survive. I try not to crash. I may come off; I try not to "crash".

Texas has Ranger Raceway in Garland & a new 4-lane track in Tyler, both flat road courses.
I intend to live forever! So far, so good.

Yes, two of the tracks with flat turns I refer to. And now there is Buffalo Speedway in Buffalo, Texas; it's a 4-lane hillclimb and the turns are not "banked" per se to get you onto and off of the upper level. And Lonny Getso has acquired an Orange American track which now resides in his All Scale Raceway in Waxahachie, Texas. While it does have a banked turn at the end of the main straight, the rest is flat. We are in a VERY unique situation here, with a commercial track in both Dallas and Ft. Worth(both with swoopy King tracks) and essentially what are 4 club tracks within driving distance. Life is good and I ain't complainin'!

Well, I've still got some more cleanup, a couple of braces for the front wings & pin tubes to do, but the main build is done... the cross members that tie the pans together actually took a good bit of the excess flex out of it, so I think it will be ok. However it will be a cold day in hell before I do another z-rail again... TOO much irritating fiddly work!!!

Does anyone know were I could purchase a tumbler and around what do they cost.
I just bought a Tumble Bee tumbler for about $88 shipped. Model TB-14
Search for Tumble-Bee.
I use a ceramic media with Dawn and water, I am pleased with how it works.

How about if it works better than any other chassis you've ever had ?

Terry Schmid West Coast Slot Car Champion has made the most awesome art work Retro Chassis since we got back in Retro Scratchbuilding. From one builder to another I just wanted to complement him for his unique artwork & creations. Sano chassis concours scratchbuilder's eye candy. Beautiful work Terry! Hand cut and filed Brass.
