A mock-up of my Scarab sitting on its new Rodger Niznik wheels and tires. Should have the car up and running soon!

Good question Paul.
I have been bugging the guys on Facebook for months but very little has been posted.
Steve showed me his finished chassis in the private, but other than that.... it's "got wheels ordered" or "going to get started next weekend" types of excuses.

Need to get a motor. Still have a couple weeks yet. . .

Last I saw it was the 25th.
Weird...it seems to be available, but I can't access it...says it's either expired or it's a group I'm not part of. I've made contact with Steve Kempson. He just got home from work but he's going to look into it.

I saw Vdubs car this Saturday, it is niftyHope all Y'all get a chance to run them.Cheers
Thanks Bill. I have some modifications I plan to make, as it's a little too "tippy" for my taste. Plus painting the body, then i's in the mail to the UK

"Events" on Facebook expire after a year of posting. Steve just started the "Event" too soon apparently. He's now started a second version.
Would have been better here.... but whatever.
All entrants are now receiving invites to Driftn' Fifties Proxy2.

That green Jag looks like a hard body...very clean. I revamped my chassis a bit, and will be painting the body over the next few evenings. Should be in the mail by the end of the week. I'll post pics when I'm done.

Thanks! I'm not sure if the longer guide lead and reverse guide has any advantage over a short lead and standard guide, but it is what it is now LOL. I had Mr. Noose do the interior 'cause I suck at them, so it's going to be the nicest looking part of the car. But I do like the way the wheel inserts turned out...classic American mags.

Great looking field of cars. I love that little red Jag, and what is the lavender 17 in the third row.

#17 is Steve Kempson's car. I'm pretty sure it's an Maserati 450 same as Paul's car just ahead.

Thanks Paul. Congrats to all the entrants and good luck in the rounds to follow.
The cars all look super. The real winner is Steve-a-Roonie Kempson for putting on a great show.
It's all about looking cool and drifting through the curves, baby

Current results posted a few hours ago on Facebook.
4 flakes of pale green paint.
3 light buckets.
2 driver's heads.
And a Porsche wheel insert.
Another rambunctious proxy race at North London with food, drink and banter - none of which is Facebook-friendly unfortunately. The above car parts are now on my to-do list once I've identified their rightful owners ...
103.81 - Steve Kempson
101.94 - Pablo Wolcott
101.39 - Andy Brown-Searle
101.04 - Ron Kiyomura #28
100.93 - Ron Kiyomura #27
100.92 - Greg Gilbert
100.16 - John Streisguth
99.24 - Steve King
98.43 - Ron Kiyomura #26
90.78 - John Dilworth
90.78 - Dennis Samson
88.28 - Jesus De La Peña
88.17 - Jairus Watson
87.76 - John Secchi
87.05 - Graham Walker
86.59 - Kathryn Bartlett
84.53 - Tony Davey
76.30 - Niels Elmholt Christensen
The bottom three cars will go into the garage for retuning after consultation with their owners. Missing parts will be reattached and we'll head of the Raceway 81 in June for Round 2. Car photos to follow tomorrow (sorry, Jairus).
Steve promised he'd post body off pics and some glamor shots.
Guess they'll come later.
(Congratulations Paul!) :-)
